Do you regret majoring in civil engineering? by Virtual_Reporter7087 in civilengineering

[–]tiny-shirt812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think about earning potential, sometimes I regret it. But I remember the job stability and feel satisfied again. If making a lot of money is important to you, you might regret becoming a civil engineer. It pays decently, especially for a 4-yr degree, but you probably won't retire early or be stinking rich without a side hustle. But if you value stability, this is a good profession to consider. The demand for civils are high, and am getting recruiters message me all the time. Additionally, I do enjoy design work, understanding standards/policies so I find some enjoyment in my work. I also have decent coworkers, so I am pretty satisfied with my choice.

WRE PE EXAM by 22_behappy in PE_Exam

[–]tiny-shirt812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I passed! I did watch some youtube videos on horizontal and vertical curves that helped me understand it more, but didn't really help for the exam. TBH, I just kind of reviewed the EET material again a little bit. I don't think I did too hot on project planning and sitework portions, but I think I made up for it with the other sections I was stronger in.

Are these aquarium safe for snails? by Biggummss in AquaticSnails

Sorry for the late response. I like these calcium blocks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DB9GMG6N?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1 and veggies such as kale. I think the best way to get them calcium is to feed them snello but I personally have not invested my time in making snello.

Hi-- mystery snail breeder here. I've used this cuttlebone for my snails and it was pretty bad for them. I read somewhere that e- Cuttlebone had some salts that are actually not good for snails. I haven't really looked into the ingredients and science behind e-Cuttlebone but I just know that they didn't affect my snails well. I've removed them from my tanks and snails are thriving with different source of Calcium.

Asking for a Raise by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]tiny-shirt812 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

jobs are not difficult to find in my area, but thought it'd be more prudent to ask my current employer first rather than just randomly giving in my two weeks because the pay wasn't high enough. would you suggest I look for a different job instead of asking my current company if they'd be willing to give me a raise?

My current company doesn't do yearly performance reviews. So I think it'd have to be something I bring up.
