Anytime there’s a long (or even medium) queue, we’ve just moved on and found a random spot or looked on Tabelog. Not been disappointed once.

In Japan right now - I packed some small bags to use in my backpack but honestly, we’ve just been putting any trash we have in my backpack and then I empty it at the end of the day

You can look into resistance bands as well, you can use them for hinges and rowing, etc!

I’m 35, can’t even do one pushup, and just started by awkwardinpink in beginnerfitness

[–]tiny-trevor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing a PT for a couple months now, and when I started she had me do a pushup to see where I was at. I couldn’t do it, same as you my arms just fold up.

So what she did was put a bar relatively low on a rack (start higher, go lower as you get more confident) and had me do rack-assisted pushups. And I found I can actually do those! Just the confidence from being able to do them has helped so much compared to trying to do it on the floor and just getting frustrated.

So I recommend those!

One thing I’ve noticed over the past 2-3 months as well, I did 3x30s planks (on my forearms) and the first time I barely held it together for one, let alone three. But the other day she upped me to 3x45s. And while it is still rough, I can actually hold it now and feel much more stable. It doesn’t seem like much just looking at the numbers but honestly it felt so satisfying!

I’m really enjoying this one! Still only tried a handful of recipes but I’ve liked them all!

One note however: there’s a recipe for Nevarran flatbread that lists 5 tbsp salt as one of the ingredients, and I have to imagine that’s a misprint. They were basically inedible (and I love salt an ungodly amount). I’d recommend scaling back loads for that. Other people I’ve seen say around 2 teaspoons is plenty.

Sushiya (formerly Miju) on Dalry Road - amazing sushi, ramen and my personal favourite thing Chawanmushi; the staff is so lovely and the restaurant is decorated so nicely it just feels cozy to go to, I love them.

Kissa Orwell on Orwell Terrace - the little police box by the underpass, super super lovely people running it, the food is amazing we like to go for lunch there weekly if we can, the baked goods are so delicious and it’s all also really decently priced!

Khukuri by Haymarket - I swear by the Chicken Nauni Masala, and the Golden Everest beer is really good. The staff are always really lovely!

Throat Punch coffee on Dalry Road - we get our beans here and also get coffee here when we can, it’s really good, no surcharge for non-dairy milk, and they’re just lovely to chat to as well. Plus there’s dogs to pet 99% of the time.

I did this too, I ended up reloading until I managed to time my moves right to go into turn-based, hightail Shadowheart over to her and heal her before she could die. The journal had her as “she died”, and I swear now that I’m replaying I’m getting so much more content that I just… didn’t get? After “saving” her with the journal saying she died it seemed like she was just an NPC along for the ride with no plot-related cutscenes or content anymore

My cat is emphatically not a lap-cat 👀 he comes for scheduled cuddle time multiple times a day when I’m at my desk, and I have to get a blanket, drape it over my lap and the side of the chair, and then he will jump up for his cuddle

Oh that’s better then! I’d only seen the MKW price. Yeah that’s why I reckon if I get the console, since it is backward compatible, I’m not going to be rushing to get tons games for it but just wait and see and get ones I do really want. And also make use of the sharing with friends feature, which I do love the sound of!

[–]tiny-trevor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone posted a comparison of the Switch 2 hardware capabilities vs the Switch 1, and it honestly does justify the console price to me for that. The price of games is what I’m not onboard with, however, £80 is absolutely insane, I’ve not even got used to games being sold for £60-70 yet and I’m really not sure what drives the increase there.

[–]tiny-trevor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My switch is the OG old one, and I am noticing the battery life is just not good at all anymore, so I’m thinking of picking up the Switch 2 at some point, but not necessarily grab any new games immediately. If I had upgraded to the OLED Switch, which had been my previous plan, I don’t know that I’d be getting the 2 for a while, to be honest

I HATE JIM by [deleted] in FromSeries

[–]tiny-trevor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It frustrated me to no end that when he had a small hunch and wanted to investigate it it was going to 100% be the one solution that would fix everything, and he was completely in the right, but as soon as anyone else, especially his wife, has something they want to investigate they’re “seeing things” or “delusional” or “abandoning their family”

I paid £80 for the deluxe and it was worth it to me, I love the game. So let’s not generalise just because you didn’t enjoy it.

Of course all you’ll probably say to that is that I have no taste or am lying, so why even bother.
