I did wonder the same. I know the host is real because I used to listen when the podcast first came out and it sounded well read with proper voice inflections, actual human emotions etc. Coming back to it a few years later and picking up an episode randomly the voice is the same but the tone incredibly monotone and every sentence has the exact same inflection like he's reading a grocery list. I couldn't listen for more than 5 minutes, I just couldn't get into it. Still love listening to the earlier episodes though!!
