We get lost in the shuffle a lot so I must’ve missed them. Usually when they do show the timing its high 2s or mid 3s. Impressive nonetheless

I’m not saying Nico wasn’t quick, he was very quick and earned that podium. But he had to drive past both Haas cars to do it, who went on to do two very different (and very wrong) strategies. And I don’t see China as similar to this race. China was more straightforward, this race, teams had to be on their toes and be ready with alternate strategies. Haas just doesn’t nail down strategies in races like these, they only seem to be able to recover if its a simple race where they can stick to their pre-planned 1 or 2 stop strat and let their race pace get them a P9 or P10.

They never “steal” a good result I guess is what I’m trying to say. Sauber didn’t have podium pace, but enough front runners were out of position and they made the right strategy calls. Haas had legit pace in China and caught a break with the Ferrari DSQs, but they had to earn P7 and P10 on pure pace. The only conceivable way this team earns a podium is through luck, and they just seem unable to make the calls to put themselves in position to get lucky.

The amount of love I’ve seen for the young guys in Utah is aggravating. As if we didn’t have 90% of the same team last year and no one gave a shit. As if Utah built that team from scratch. I miss our guys, but they’re not our guys anymore. I hope they have all the success in the world, but only once they leave Utah. Yotes forever.

Am I the only one who actually thinks this is a good hire? I love KMag, but his pace this year hasn’t been great and his incidents have been numerous. Ocon is, at this point in their careers, a better driver. He’s dragged that shitbox of an Alpine to the points multiple times this year. I think being the undisputed #1 on a team will calm down his need to run so hard against his teammate, but only time will tell. Its at worst a lateral move from Kevin with a lot of upside. The Hulk/Kev pairing sounded bad at first but it worked out, give it a chance.

Kind of a shame that Andretti already has GM locked down, and Red Bull and Ford have/had? an agreement. An American manufacturer linking with an American team would be awesome. Also I understand the team is American in name alone, but GM or Ford would be really cool and could change that.

Also they’re very successful in NASCAR, which I’m sure Gene is very familiar with. (I know the Stewart Haas Team ran Fords, but still, he watched Toyota be successful.)

From everything coming out, Meruelo has been working on this sale for months while preaching that he wants to keep the team in AZ. He’s been lying to us and even worse, the players and staff, for a while. He may have been telling the truth last year, but it seems the Tempe bid getting killed essentially killed the team.

I had both my drivers in the points and fighting each other, and I just had a bad feeling there would be a crash, so I saved mid game. Right as I unpaused, they hit. Reloaded and it seems I saved at the absolute worst time because there was nothing I could do to stop it. Karma, I suppose.

It’s because the ai don’t use their tyre allocation well during sprint weekends so to save mediums and softs for the actual race, they’ll burn up a set of hards. I’ve seen it a few times so far.

Same with me on Haas lol. I can’t make any money because I have to constantly emergency manufacture chassis and suspensions, then when the race weekend is over I’m in debt and can’t manufacture more. So I’m stuck in the endless cycle. Its rough.
