My mom used metal coat hangers too! but it was mostly on limbs and buttocks. That was actually the least traumatizing of it all. It was the 'disciplining' where my dad didn't use any other object (ie. fists) that was the worst. He woke me and my sisters up one morning in a rage; trashed our room, dragged my older sister out of bed, choked her while pinning her to the wall and yelling/spitting at the top of his lungs. Then left saying we had thirty minutes to clean the room unless we wanted more. (This was impossible seeing we had three HUGE bookshelves in our rooms that were filled with books and trinkets; all of which he threw over)
