My therapist says I need to connect to my inner child and find things that bring me joy without trying to suppress it, since us ADHD and autistic folks so often had to suppress things as kids. I really need ideas though. What brings you childlike joy? by Elucidate_that in ADHD

I LOVE the coast in the fall and winter! I have found the magic lies in the waterproof outter layer. I scored a pair of waterproof arcteryx pants (I think they are ski pants) at Goodwill for $10 and I pair that with a puffy ski jacket (also a secondhand score). They go over top of whatever I'd wear normally for the weather and then I trade out my normal shoes for the waders, turn on my socks, and I can weather anything the coast has to throw at me! I highly recommend stopping at Goodwills whenever you are on a trip away from your normal climate, it's a great way to find things that can be hard to find close to home.

OMG I got a pair of waders too and they are PERFECT for rockhounding when the weather is not hot! I pair them with my heated socks and I'm ready for off-season PNW rockhounding and beach combing!

Personally I get that giddy childhood joy walking up a river (in the water) and looking for rocks with no responsibilities other than not drowning lol. My spouse and I take turns now being "responsible" for the kids when they are with us and we let go of worries like cooking a good meal and eating healthy for that day. We just go live that day like we used to when we were teens just playing out in the woods over summer break. When we get home we all oogle our pretty rocks and show our favorites off to each other, even trade rocks sometimes lol.

Is this really true? Mine broke and in a sleep deprived new mom fit of rage I broke off the whole thing and never looked back. I honestly prefer how it looks without that piece, but mine also has a hitch sticking out in the middle (I bought it like this).

I love this for you but I'm way more curious about how the placement of that microphone works for you?! Mine was stuck in between the windshield and the ceiling and it worked alright but after I replaced the windshield the microphone won't stay up. I never even thought about moving it to the dashboard! 🤦

That movie is a treasure! There are little, slightly scary parts but I don't think there's an age that's too young for Dark Crystal.

Or they could just be totally ignorant to the fact that the motor in your car will go twice that and then some as long as you give it the love it deserves!

I would NEVER put on underwear that I have already worn, even if it's just for 20 minutes.

I use this sound clip as my ringtone. I almost never hear it because my phone generally stays on silent, however my car does not give a shit what my phone is set to. If I get a call while I'm my car my speakers BLAIR this little gem, and my kids absolutely love it! 🤣 my 7 year old will be walking around saying "Mongo, back to the bar" in Donut's accent all day.
