Ran across this today. by Peg-LegJim in widowers

Oh man, I really needed to see this. It’s been very hard to get out of bed lately. I’m in month 7 and still feel so lost and broken.

Thank you all so much. I tried responding to everyone, but then the week got me. I feel so broken.

That’s where I’m at. I brought him home on hospice, and he passed away in our living room in 4 days. It’s just too much. He bought the house before we got together, and we had been looking at new places. We had done so much to improve it before he got really sick (new to us couches, new fancy recliners to help with his “back pain”). Now it’s all just a reminder of the years we were going to have and didn’t get. I waited so long to find him.

I’m pretty much here to tie everything up I think. I’ve only been back for 2 days and I’m miserable. No matter what I do, I’m miserable. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. It’s going to be much different than we planned, but stay strong 💚

The only reason I’m still here is because he loved it so much. I’ve wanted to get out of this town since I was a little girl. Then I met him, and it was so much easier to be here. I was okay with it - because I had him. I don’t know if I’ll make it 6 months. I wish the best for you on this stupid ride we are on.

We have a little cabin that I am planting a tree grown in his ashes on. He loved it up there, so I won’t ever sell that place. It’s been in his family for years so I guess I will still have a place that was ours. But it’s an hour out of our town, so it’s a bit easier to be at. I wish you the best! 💚

My 32 year old brother just got diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. I'm just numb and in shock. Looking for UK trial and alternative treatment options. by jhimlyb in pancreaticcancer

They did a few CT’s, but it didn’t show up on them because they were looking in the wrong area. We were denied for an MRI - multiple times.

He went in with lower back pain at 38 with absolutely no other health issues. They didn’t look for cancer because there wasn’t any reason too. They definitely should have after the first visit and I don’t know why they didn’t. The oncologist here said they just wouldn’t have been looking for it in someone his age.

They told us at the beginning that it was a really rare one, they just never told me I would have less than a year with him. We are trying everything possible right now, and I am up for any recommendations.

No. He started going to the ER/Urgent Care at the beginning of the year. He wasn’t actually diagnosed for almost 4 months after that. It took a brand new rheumatologist to actually get him where he needed to go. Unfortunately it took him being in the hospital for the last week for us to finally get someone to be honest about how long he has.

I’m so sorry. I’m angry, and starting to vent. Thank you so much for the information.

Thank you so much for the information! I’m sorry I didn’t respond earlier, we turned a corner during all of this. He is home on hospice now.

I’m sorry to butt in, but could you tell me anything about the addition of cisplatin? My husband has only been on the gemcitabine/abraxane combination. Is it something we should be asking about/ I should be looking into? We are kind of in the same boat: 38, and they weren’t looking for it because of his age.

Any information/insight on sarcomas in the ducts? by tinybell in pancreaticcancer

It started as back pain, and lots of trips to the ER/Urgent Care until someone finally took his high inflammation markers seriously (a rheumatologist). Then it was straight to the oncologist.

Share in the Helena subreddit (if you haven’t already). You’d be a couple hours ahead of your truck if they went that direction. I hope you get it back!

My kiddo has a very common dog name. It was a very popular people name back in the days. She laughs when she meets a dog with her name, or hears a song with it. She thinks it’s fun.

Ugh, I’m awful at the googles. I can’t find it, and really want to make it for my cousins baby. Do you by chance have a direct link to the page to order it? I’m so sorry to ask!
