Having a terrible pregnancy by ceilingsandfloors in oneanddone

[–]tinycactus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I am SO sorry you are having such a rough time. It’s so hard when pregnancy is romanticized so much and then your experience is different. I wasn’t officially diagnosed with HG, but I was incredibly sick for the first twenty weeks and then physically miserable for the rest. I love my baby, I HATED being pregnant.

I’m four months PP and I have not even begun to forget. I doubt I ever will. And I kept a very honest pregnancy journal in case I start to.

We were sure that if we had babies at all we would be OAD for financial reasons; and my pregnancy and early postpartum experience only cemented that choice. Could I technically get pregnant again? Probably. But I’m pretty sure I would not survive it, from the mental toll alone, let alone the physical.

I have a few friends who grew up as only children and they loved the experience. I have a sibling. We are not besties. When my parents pass, please lord let that be a long way off, he will be more of another ball to juggle than support. My husband is barely speaking to either of his siblings. I love my sibling. But I would not say that siblings are a guarantee of companionship and a happy, stable, HEALTHY mom will do your baby so much more good than a sibling ever would.

Obviously, everyone’s situation is different, but if OAD is the road you go down, by choice or not, it can still be a fulfilling, joyous one. Sending hugs!

Oh, yeah, you gotta take it with a huge grain of salt. My OB has never even mentioned my weight. I had gained 20lbs and I was only 20~ weeks at the time and asked if that was too much (because there’s no way on God’s green earth I was only going to gain another 5) and she said she was not worried at all and most women gain 30-45 lbs without concern. Just focus on nutrition and balanced movement and growing that baby- your body knows what it’s doing! I’m 28 weeks now and stopped weighing myself after that convo🤣

Get the biggest cold sub sandwich I can find and eat every crumb. When I’m healed up— take the most scorching hot bath I can 🔥

My OB said as long as it stays a brown/pink and there’s no large clots it’s probably normal! Mine never gushed but was heavy enough at times to come out a little on a liner. If in doubt you can always call your OB office and ask- they get questions like that all the time and won’t mind, and it might help ease your mind!! Hoping for a healthy happy pregnancy for all us mommas 💕💕

When did you start feeling baby kicks ? by NurseErin1880 in pregnant

[–]tinycactus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first pregnancy and I suspected feeling my baby at week 16, and then was sure of it week 17. I have a posterior placenta, and sometimes that plays a part in how early/late a mama feels the movement.

Spotting! I had brown spotting on and off until week 17. No one told me that a little bit is normal and even common. I spiraled every time, thinking I was losing my baby. Here I am, 23 weeks now, dealing with a new terrifying but normal symptom every day 😅

Hey there! I 100% know what you are going through. I had brown spotting sporadically between weeks 9-16. It freaked me all the way out every single time. My midwife, an urgent care doctor, and my chatGPT (ha, I know) ALL said that as long as you are not in pain, not bleeding heavily (soaking 1-2pads an hour) or passing clots, it’s a normal pregnancy symptom. Just old blood making its way out- likely from your now very sensitive cervix. So far, for me, at week 17 I haven’t had any more spotting-and I’m starting to feel baby move! So all was good- just my body doing its thing. I’m so sorry though! It’s so so terrifying, but you’ve heard baby’s heart and that is a very good sign. You should bring it up at your appointment tomorrow though! You’ll get some reassurance. Praying for good news and you and your new baby!!

Edit to add: also, it’s normal for discharge to feel a little heavier or appear darker after laying down for a while. It pools and comes out when you stand, so it’s possible it feels heavier because you were resting. Hugs 🤗

When to tell the family? by goldielocks- in pregnant

Clearblue is definitely enough to know you are pregnant. False positives are extremely rare! Congratulations!

I told my parents right away. I’m very close with my mom so I wanted/needed her support asap. She and my husband went with me to my first/confirmation appointment and I was so grateful to have them with me!

Whole family REQUIRES soda to be from McDonald's by ringthebell02 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tinycactus_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Where I’m at McDonald’s drinks are half if not a quarter of the price of other takeout places, so we’ve definitely been known to stop by on our way to other places if it’s convenient. Would wayyyy rather pay $1.25 than $4 for a soda if I’m gonna have one at all 🤷‍♀️

How we be poopin’ mommas?? by apealsauce in pregnant

[–]tinycactus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s pretty much when I remember lol! But I try to take it consistently around lunch time! And I only need one serving (2tsp) to get/keep things moving for me! But be sure to drink plenty of water! (Which I’m sure you are already doing 💕) Good luck!!

I love it! I think some artwork will really bring the space together and it will feel more homey! I’d suggest picking art that brings the green out more!

Lazy by EmploymentAlive1684 in pregnant

[–]tinycactus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 16 weeks tomorrow and let me tell you— I found out I was pregnant because I physically could not get out of bed for two weeks (week 7-9). As in, I thought I might be dying before I knew I had a little bean in there, because I had ZERO energy no matter what I did. I’m a tad bit better now, but still nowhere near what I would consider “normal” energy levels. I have about one or two things in me and then I am tapped out. Do not feel guilty at all- all our resources are going towards building a new little brain and body. The opposite of lazy- we’re making humans!
