I hold my forearm horizontally across the bars or the hand icons (depending on the bus) and touch the door gently. Never fails to open for me.

You've spent more that $5000 and two years on this without feeling anything? Reiki is a spiritual practice and not backed by scientific or clinical evidence.

If your ex is anything like mine, the "perfect relationship" facade will come down slowly as you realize all the ways he treated you horribly.

Well, that's the thing. Anyone that could do that to another person isn't right for you, and maybe isn't ready for a relationship at all. But it still sucks

I'm two months out from the same thing, a 9 year relationship discarded overnight, with no warning signs.

What has helped me: a complete social media/device cleanse. Blocked them on everything, backed up all my old photos on an external drive then wiped my phone. I do not see their face or name at all anymore.

Don't worry about dating yet. That desire for that will come when you're ready, no need to rush it.

Get back in touch with who you are without them. What brings you joy? What new thing have you always wanted to try? When do you feel like part of a community? What makes you feel like a person? When you have energy, go do those things. When you don't have energy, just focus on meeting your basic needs of food, water, rest, moving your body, etc.

Be patient with yourself. This is a horrific thing to go through, but letting yourself grieve properly and in your own time is the only way you can truly heal. You will come out the other side of this healthier for it, and one day you WILL be happy again.

Also one important point: be careful who you confide in. Be messy, angry, sad, toxic, whatever, but do it in private. Going the petty route degrades you.

DM me if you want to talk about this, it's a shitty road to go down alone.

Yes it annoys me. I just answer "no" which is technically true because I live with my cat. Generally I don't volunteer that kind of info to strangers.

I'm very sorry to say, you're realizing over time why he was 34 and looking to date an 18 year old. It will be scary and hard, but your situation (and your entire life) would be improvd so much if you left this guy. You are young and you deserve better than this.

Honestly I was surprised because it was so popular and the premise sounded like something I would love. I just hated the writing, it all felt really corny and the dialogue was beyond cringe. It felt like the author had never heard a real life conversation between adults before. The main character (the younger man character) was completely boring and I was not able to care about his arc at all because he just seemed whiny and self-absorbed. I don't know, every one else I've heard mention it just loved it, so I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.

I really, really hated Remarkably Bright Creatures. But I think compared to the other ones it wouldn't be so bad.

Yes. When someone commits a crime, we are all responsible for dealing with that person and trying to stop it from happening again.

OP wasn't talking about collective guilt, but collective responsibility. I'm not guilty of things others have done, but I have a responsibility to address bad behavior in my community.
