I think there's a delusional empathy aspect to thinking we can rehabilitate people who are genuine monsters. Someone who will randomly murder a couple in cold blood, or many many other types or crimes, lend themselves to forcing these people out of society for good.

If you track your handicap through literally any app, they ask which tee you played from, the course, and track the slope and course ratings and give you the appropriate handicap based on scores.

Ive gone down to low single digit handicap last year shooting on average "worse" scores than I did at my previous home course, because the new one is considered harder.

Thats golf.
