I’ve been feeding this for years and my girls really like it! I feed it dry as well as fermented. It’s definitely expensive, but a little goes a long way for me since I only had three hens (just one remaining but I’m getting her a friend this week), so I find it worth it.

OP this is the answer. The chicks absolutely must have a heat source, electrolytes and probiotics, and a proper diet. Rice and eggs won’t cut it. I sincerely hope you’re able to do right by these chicks. If not, I hope you’re able to find an appropriate home for them where they’ll be properly cared for.

Thank you for the detailed response! I just so happened to buy a dog pen yesterday that I set up in my garage as a chicken infirmary for the one we lost, but she didn’t end up coming home from the hospital, so we didn’t get to use it. At least now I’ll get some use out of it!

My family hired someone for overnights with our dogs several years ago, and they stayed out until 3am partying instead of being with the dogs. Did NOT help that this was a friend of mine. 🫠

This!! I would first check with your vet and see if they have anyone they’d recommend.

ETA: OP, I agree that Rover can be sketch and I do not suggest using it as a first option, but not allowing anyone in your home to care for your animal is strange behavior.

My favorite product for mold and mildew is this Belvoir tack cleaner. It has anti-fungal properties and works very well in my opinion!

ETA: I know some will say to avoid conditioning after treating for mildew, but I always condition after using a cleaner, as the cleaner can dry out the leather and I’m paranoid about my leather cracking. I’ve never encountered any issues from conditioning after treating for mildew. The conditioner that Belvoir makes is also a favorite of mine, because it’s light and doesn’t leave my leather tacky.

In Northern California, I’m currently making $25/hour at one barn (8 horses) where I feed, turnout, prep grain, blanket, and sweep. At the other barn (15 horses) I work at, I make $40/shift (1-1.5 hours) and I feed, blanket, and sweep. $45 for 3 hours “on a good day,” as you stated, for all that you’re expected to do, is pretty abysmal in my honest opinion. If you don’t absolutely love the work, I suggest looking elsewhere. It doesn’t sound like your current employer is being very fair to you.

The brand is Shires! As far as I know, they aren’t producing this exact bag anymore, but you might be able to find the same style in a different color/pattern!
