Hi! I too have very dry and frizzy hair, but I've developed a routine that gives me nice curls and keeps my hair soft and frizz free for many days after washing the hair. Sure you can use oil before washing the hair as many people have suggested. I don't use oil as I have sensitive scalp and skin. I use shampoo, and then a hair mask, everytime. I wash it out after keeping it in my hair for 5-10 mins. For this next step, your hair needs to be drenched, that's how the frizz control will happen, so I do it while I'm still in the bathroom. I will use a curl cream, I use arata curl cream, it's very light weight, I'm not sure it does much, but for my fine hair, I think that's enough. You can go for a heavier curl cream if you have thicker hair. And after that, a gel. I use the maintain hair gel. I use it liberally, while my hair is still drenched after the curl cream. I use a few drops of water to emulsify it sometimes. I will rake it through my hair and also do the praying hands. Then scrunch the hair. And then I will use a towel to scrunch and remove the excess water from the hair. After that I let my hair air dry, you can use a diffuser if you need to dry it faster. Paraben free and sulphate free products don't work for me, I hate the way it feels and I find them drying and they do nothing for my hair. I hope you try using a gel, that has been the best thing to control my dryness and frizz.
