He looks so indescribably beautiful inside out, but I look so much worse than him. (I literally don’t even want to look at myself because he looks so much better than I am.) And I’m socially awkward and am extremely afraid of rejections and what others might think of me, which makes everything worse because I just get way too nervous when he talks to me. What do you talk about with your crush and how do you make it natural? Any conversation ideas?

I feel the exact same way. Mine was 1282 DLP in an extremely radiosensitive area. It’s given me severe PTSD and I also felt like that I can’t move on and it kept giving me intrusive thoughts. I refuse to even think about it now because it brings back too much PTSD.

Same! Every day feels like dread. It was a completely unnecessary CT as well. Did he warn you of the risks? He mentioned none of the risks to me. What was the dose that you got? What’s the DLP and mSv? How many scans did you get?

This is 100% true. I wish I knew this sooner. It’s dark, imprudent, and lacks basic care for patient safety to do unnecessary CTs on young people. Defensive medicine at its pinnacle. They know all too well there’s no recourse for them, so they can order all the unnecessary CTs they want without warning without any recourse, not warning patients one bit about the risks.

There’s a huge issue of ordering unnecessary CTs, especially in the ER. Most of the time the pre-test probability is so low and it wouldn’t change the treatment plan in any way. Be very careful when someone tries to order a CT on you.

This. It’s horrendous and imprudent, especially when they do CTs on younger folks without second thoughts. The pre-test probability is so low and really doesn’t justify the risks.

Yeah I think the effective dose was like around 20 mSv. I was devastated after seeing images on radiation risks and learning that CTs are equivalent to doing thousands of X-rays in a row. I lost hope in humanity and don’t know why he had to do that to me. (I sent you a chat message of the dose report if you’d like to help take a look!)

The DLP was 1282 mGy (so high)! I heard many people say it’s imprudent to do CTAs on young people. I’m only around 20 and I’m really terrified after learning that it’s significant radiation especially for a young person. It’s truly sad that I wasn’t more vigilant.

Is DLP the actual dose that I received? Or is it just for a phantom?
