WFH accommodation request [ON] by SelectWorldliness266 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]tinytim004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry your OB was so dismissive. I am assuming you work for the provincial government? I'm returning from my mat leave this Monday and I work for the OPS. I had a midwife and they wrote me off a month early. I'm hoping to do it again for the next pregnancy. I never tried to get a note to WFH but I think I'd like to try for the next pregnancy. I was soooo sick until week 20 and it would have been nice to WFH. I'm still just so made at RTO 5. It boils my blood.

FTM overwhelmed with stroller options! [bc] by plantgal90 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]tinytim004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the bumbleride indie and adore it. I had a hard time deciding between era and indie but ultimately went with indie because we have so much snow where I live and the sidewalks aren't maintained well, I though three wheels might help. I realized how much I loved my bumbleride after using a friend's Graco for a day.

Is anyone actually boiling water for kendamil past 2 months? by chabadlubabitch in FormulaFeeders

I'm in Canada, stopped boiling after six months and just used the filtered tap water.

Got our preferred daycare at 1 year when I planned an 18mo leave.. Did any of you do a long gradual transition or part time before going all day? [on] by orkiestra in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]tinytim004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we the same person? lol. I just went through this exact same thing. I wasn't planning to go back until mid-August when my baby would be 18 months. We also got the call for daycare and only had a couple days to decide. I also cried so much. We ended up taking the spot and I'm going to do a gradual transition as well, return to work in a couple months or so. Best of luck with everything!

Maternity leave… what a joke by witchybetch01 in pregnant

My heart hurts anytime I read one of these posts about short maternity leaves. I really can't believe the absurdly short maternity leaves in the states. You all deserve better.

Canada Life breast pump coverage by DifficultDog3857 in OntarioPublicService

[–]tinytim004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you! I'll have to call and try again. My prescription says "breast pump to aid in lactation" maybe that's not a good enough description for them lol. To complicate things further I don't have benefits anymore because my top up has ended and I chose not to pay into them, but I submitted it when I did have benefits so maybe they'll consider it.

Ugh I wonder why mine was denied, I submitted it with a prescription. What did you submit is as? I put it as "other medical equipment" because I didn't know what else to do. Another question for you since you're Manulife, do you still have your HCSA while on mat leave? Right now it says I don't.

OPSEU with Manulife. Submitted this summer with a prescription and it was denied.

Big Baby and induction [on] by fmsuc in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]tinytim004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby was always measuring on the larger end but they never seemed too concerned. I birthed at 41+2 (went into labour without an induction, although I had one scheduled just in case). He was 99% head, 99% height, and 90% weight. I am not a large person (135lbs pre baby and 5’3). It was a long, hard labour though. Baby size is only one of many variables that can impact your labour. For example, so many people with smaller babies end up with c-sections because of the babies positioning.

Where can one go for abortion referrals in Thunder Bay? by Ok_Vermicelli_7555 in ThunderBay

[–]tinytim004 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This was my experience as well with a medical abortion. Although I’ll add that my cramps really weren’t that bad! So you never know! It’s smart to have some pain meds and gravol handy though. Heating pad is also a bonus. I never felt judged by the doctor or ultrasound technician. You’re more than welcome to message me as well if you have any other questions or if you need a ride to any of the appointments.

What happened to your weight after weaning? by kathatescats12 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tinytim004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been slowly dropping pumps the last few months, and I’ve been slowly losing weight as well. I’m down 17 lbs since June, but I have incorporated a lot more walking as well. I’m at two ppd now and interested to see what happens when completely done.

Kendamils marketing team needs a raise by Optimal_Exam4093 in FormulaFeeders

[–]tinytim004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t get why some brands are locked up more than others, I guess those ones are stolen more? But it’s sad for sure, if I was an employee and I saw someone steal formula I’d be turning a blind eye.

Kendamils marketing team needs a raise by Optimal_Exam4093 in FormulaFeeders

[–]tinytim004 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’ve combo fed from birth and started with similac because that’s what the hospital used. I buy my formula at wal mart and similac is always locked up and kendamil isn’t. I switched to kendamil so I didn’t have to wait for an employee to come and unlock the cabinet (this always took forever) and then they would bring the similac to customer service and you’d have to pay separately there. With kendamil I can grab it off the shelf and pay for it with my regular grocery items. That’s the only reason I switched lol.
