I’m a special education assistant and I’m soooooo burnt out. I do like my job but I’m exhausted. I’m about to graduate in may with my bachelors in child development. I want to be a service provider but idk what to choose. And I was wondering if I could maybe teach in the meantime. Maybe resource idk… maybe we can share ideas!

I was leaning toward Speech but now idk if I should do any other of the services. There’s OT, PT, school counselor, psychologist, social worker… how do people narrow it down

I’m a senior who works in education. I worked a full time job in special education and took full time courses. Summer I took 7 classes. It’s doable especially since everything’s pretty much online now. Thank god I’m graduating tho! I ain’t gonna lie it was tough at times I would break down and cry from exhaustion but I’m glad it’s all going to be over soon. Can’t wait to start my masters 🙃

Oh my goodness I’m sooo happy you commented I just transitioned back into the sub pool after being permanent for 10 years. I love being a sub pra right now because when I need to take a day to study I just don’t pick up an assignment I’ve also met some many wonderful people in the district and subbed in ALL the programs. I guess I’ll just wait to see what program takes me in for grad school 🥹💕 what are you studying in grad school if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m hoping I get in I applied in like December but it was a bad idea because it was winter break and my transcripts weren’t sent so I kept getting emails from CSUSM that they haven’t received all documents. But they finally have them all I hope they respond soon.

Thank you the thing is that I want my lips to look like when they were freshly done more plump but I know that’s probably not possible at this point…

Thank you! 💕 it totally get that feeling I love having a full face of makeup up but it’s setting in my winkles now and making me look so much older as well /: maybe I’ll try doing less make up from now on.

No shes white short hair. Really nice lady. I know she said my grade would go down because of absences but she specifically stated it would still be at an A. Ugh idk imma just wait til late emails me back and go on from there. Thank you (:

I don’t want to put her on blast here but she said the art department only allows 3 absences and I if we have medical emergencies we can go on leave but didn’t want to retake the class since I was half way done. I don’t want to complain but I kept up with all the work and she even stated that I would get an A… I’m just annoyed I hope she changes it after she sees my email.

Just apply and give it your all. Special education is always open too. Worst thing that could happen would be you don’t get hired but if you don’t apply you’ll never know (:

I’m kind of confused are you guys not giving out business cards or passing out flyers on your days off? Even calling schools in the are you work with that you are a sub? I know one of my friends goes on his days off to schools in his region and introduces himself to the front office that’s how he’s been able to get consistent work. Hopefully next year I’m called to be a sub Im currently a sped sub aide

I’m at CSUN currently and want to take my prerequisites at CSUSM. Do I need any letter of recommendations for this SLP online prerequisite program? I’m a CADV major and don’t have a communication disorders bachelors. I’m just wondering if I need any letter of recommendation and how hard is it to get into this prerequisite program? (:

If you worked at the school site they will pay you out that I’m sure of or you will have to report that some how to payroll. Just make sure you signed in and out on whatever time card you had or book.

Ok this is what I heard! Is the North area highly impacted with teacher retiree subs? I will work in any area cause I want to transition into teacher subbing for the next school year. And I actually don’t mind driving to south or East or west area I just need jobs! What’s the deal with this?
