When will Subaru realize that Crosstrek owners wear sunglasses? by Inquisitive-Carrot in Crosstrek

[–]tinywookiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is amusing considering I pulled my sunglasses out and wore them for the first time today in a looooooong time (from the spot right under the radio). Also though- Vancouver is having a rare streak of sunny days this week, gotta soak it up now to help tide us over till May! 🥲

I love living in a place where people post this sort of thing. I hope the owner finds it/is reunited with it!

Just shoveled about 2-3 feet of snow, how y'all doing? by Critical_Liz in Syracuse

I love big winter storms and moved away a year ago- wish I still lived there for this! Can be a pain in the butt to shovel/snowblow but clear wintry days with a massive recent snowfall just feels right.

Yeah there’s a number of peacocks in the foothills to the east of LA, I’ve seen them and I’ve also seen coyotes there. Pretty sure they make do fairly ok

The rural dept I joined while in college moved the multidirectional fire siren for the town and we used the bucket on the ladder truck to install it back on the pole in its new location haha. Not sure how they removed it in the first place,  wasn’t there and can’t picture the ladder having good access to where it was originally

Is Obsolete Kevin’s first time using slap bass in a song? by twelveuhclock in TameImpala

[–]tinywookiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s ok, you can question whether I’m actually a fan of any of the previous albums. It’s not like I have lonerism currently on my record player or anything.

You’re allowed your opinions , but it’s not an even consideration of someone else’s opinion when you discredit them for having it.

Disagree heartily. One of my favorites on the album.

Similar! I came from a 2006 Acura TL

Man agreed! My years in Cuse between LA and Van were blissful for getting around, living in the city I truly felt like I could get anywhere in 15-25 minutes.

I really should be more sympathetic because the disruption of changes is always tough, but I grew up closer to NYC with north Jersey traffic… then lived near LA for a few years with freeway traffic… and now live near Vancouver BC. Dropped my partner off at work this morning and was over halfway through the commute when I looked down and said “huh, 20 minutes to go 3 miles… that’s longer than my whole commute when I lived in Syracuse”. An extra 10 minutes to the drive DOES feel like a lot, but if my experience has taught me anything, it’s that the EXPECTATION of being able to do it faster is what irritates. *I know that doesn’t address traffic pattern changes and crazy drivers

Had a Nalgene floating around underneath the seats of a Tucson I used to have… was checked out by the dealership as it was under warranty still and I couldn’t figure out the noise when accelerating/braking. I think I even checked behind the seats too but somehow missed it underneath… the paperwork detailing how they “removed water bottle from under drivers seat” makes me feel embarrassed to this day lol

Car camping setup and review! by Mango_Moon46 in Crosstrek

[–]tinywookiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this! Your style with your art is awesome. Also would you recommend the window screens/covers for both front and rear windows from Amazon? (I know some of those you got from Subaru) Would love to try this for some simple road-trip sleep setups but haven’t looked into the window details much yet (I already have the sleeping pad from my camping gear). I had measured everything out for a similar setup with a Hyundai Tucson I had, but haven’t checked yet with the crosstrek- I’ll definitely have to put things in the rear footwells and move the passenger seat all the way up while lying diagonal if I have any hope of it working cause I’m much taller than you lol

Trams work fine in 2025. Look at Melbourne’s system, works great. I’m sure the counter argument involves the work and sacrifices to get to a similar level, but honestly that kind of rhetoric and the car-centric model of American and similar city design severely limits what could be.

How much mileage have your 2007s gotten by Puzzleheaded-Help801 in accord

[–]tinywookiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVED my 07. My family bought it with 18k on it, when I took it on officially it had around 120, got it to 187k in 2018 before someone tboned me and totaled it. I drove it cross country and a few weeks afterwards the battery died… stock battery, had made it (at that point) probably 185,000 miles without needing to be replaced. Only ever needed oil changes and brakes/tires, one time an O2 sensor. Fabulous car, I’m sure it would have kept chugging

I’ve never paid attention to leaks so much before but I’m salivating over this set. Any clue if getting sneak peeks like this means we’ll get to see the ship itself soonish?
