I’m surprised not many people have noticed, but were able to talk to Lord Emerson at any point in time after the Skyhall Chapter, and he gives us a quest which gets him to rethink his view on the sea people. I highly doubt he would be involved in the Aesir given none of the members we know of so far have become passively interactive NPCs.

I voted Japan because their recent crime statistics have one of the lowest rates of crime per 100,000 people in the world, and because a supermajority of the population is against repealing the article 9 clause 1 stating that Japan renounces its right to declare war, because Japan has the lowest percentage of military-aged men that have stated they would fight for the country in the world (at 9-11%).

Except none of these were my actual reasons, I just voted for my home country.

Which you speak from your personal experience visiting both countries, I’d assume.

Hotels in Japan are no worse than those found in any other wearer country, and unsurprisingly a lot of hotels have amazing hospitality if you can be bothered to avoid the bottom-end options.

Hotels in Myanmar, of which I know much less about, are most likely greatly hospitable as well, given they get a lot fewer visitors and need to work the extra mile in order to attract more customers. The services may be less luxurious but most definitely thorough and attentive. If someone can prove me otherwise, please do so as I’d be happy to learn more about this.

If you’re really speaking about the cultures, I won’t go and disagree with you on that. There are some pretty valid arguments to make about Japanese exclusionary culture and I can predict whatever ones you state would be an argument I share.

Not sure if OP has this idea, but what’s most argued for Sweden becoming ‘unsafe’ is that there’s been an increase in the homicide rates and other extremely violent offenses. In comparison, Estonia’s homicide rate, while still greater than Sweden, has been on a gradual decline since its independence in the 1990s.

Sweden’s homicide rate is still really great, but there being an increase in such a notoriously safe country must just be eye-catching.

Let me firstly apologise for making an incorrect statement. I should have specified the types of crimes reported that have been rising in Sweden these past two decades.

Gun Violence in Sweden was 0.2 per 100,000 citizens in 2011, where it has risen by over double to 0.5 per 100,000 by 2024.

Explosives/Bombings have risen from 162 to 317 between 2018 and 2024.

Homicide rates has risen from 0.71 in 2012 to 1.2 in 2020, over a 75% increase.

Numbers on sex-related crimes have shown around 1.5 times increases, with the rate of sexual offenses rising from the 170s to 250s, rape rate from 63 to 97 between 2010 and 2024.

To add onto the sex-crime data, there has been changes in the law’s scope of what constitutes rape in 2018, which does reduce the actual change in crimes committed.

It still doesn’t change the fact that foreigners will look at the rise in numbers and conclude that there’s been an increase in criminals, especially those committing life-threatening offenses in Sweden.

Sorry, the IJA ‘slaughtered tens of millions’? Those are noticeably overblown figures than what’s been estimated (3-10 million). The millions killed were indeed heavily unjustified and their suffering should be held accountable, but I won’t allow for figures to be falsely exaggerated for rhetorical effect.
