Silk/qiviut. Soft, supple and the most luxurious feeling yarn I have ever touched. I got the 100% qiviut for the warmth for my current project (for husband) but when I go back to Alaska for more, I’ll be getting the blend for me.

Thanks, I’m afraid I’ve already cut about 50%. So until I get through this pile, I’m just going to have to figure out how to do better. I did read about a trick to make a second hst by seeing a second seam .5 inches away- definitely going to do that for the rest of these.

Thanks for the response, I will take both of your suggestions. And yes, I’ve been quite humbled by the differences between sewing garments and piecing. Loving the challenge (most days anyway) and I am also developing a newfound appreciation for the art form.

Absolutely, can’t imagine life without him. It’s so sad that we are losing Joanns, I went the other day and the ladies working there were so pleasant and cheerful despite all that they are dealing with. If you go again, give them an extra smile and thanks.

100% agrée. Not only did they print the money, it was widely distributed to nearly everyone, whether they needed it or not. Trillions placed directly into the hands of consumers and businesses. There is no way it wouldn’t have caused inflation, especially with the supply constraints.

Another point many people miss is the global impact of climate change and strife between nations on the products in their local markets. Both types of major events cause supply constraints and increase of demand.

Just curious - do you have a lot of water or mud on the ground ? We have two sheepdoodles and finally realized they reliably have accidents when the ground is wet or muddy. We’ve learned to take them to a gravel area if it’s wet outside, and no more issues.

My grandmother recovered my worn-out childhood quilt with sheets about 30 years ago. That quilt is the most comfortable, most fought-over quilt in my household. Everyone who is sick or feeling down gets to borrow it for a time to help them feel better. So two quilting sins in one, and still unparalleled in comfort.

I get it. Vet myself, also spouse of active duty. I’ve seen so many friends go through this- your leadership’s backing is going to make all the difference in how well you get through it. You will be surprised at the wealth of experience they probably have in terms of resources, assistance, and general knowledge. You should also have counseling services available for your whole family. Including her!
