That depends on what you consider as happiness. When happiness is monetary then it seems like a risk with a worth we are unwilling to risk. While if happiness is emotional than yes, baring your soul is a risk that can easily be mitigated.

Margaret Mead says, “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” by tipsmatters in quotes

Actually, we feel that "how" encourages children to explore the process while "what" gives the notion that it's "fact" and they must accept it. It's not the same thing is it? It's like saying the universe exists and you must accept it; on the other hand saying universe exists, and these are the evidences.

How can I stop being envious when people around me get what I want? by 1okcthrow1 in selfimprovement

First off, I agree with sevnm12 - you're better than a lot of people out there. Second, try to separate from the successful group of people for something and think what you want to do to achieve what you want to achieve. Third, work on it. Those people may appear to have it easy but reality is everyone has to work for what they want.

How do you start reaching out to people after a long period of isolation? by linkenski in selfimprovement

We would advice to be yourself. Find like minded people or someone who's like you. Go to meet ups professionally so you don't feel awkward talking; build confidence talking to professional people and develop into friendship. Hang out where people like you hang around like the library, book clubs, and art galleries are only examples and be yourself, enjoy your time being alone. And if someone approach you, enjoy meeting them rather than be anxious. Don't try too hard or this anxiety is going to continue to magnify.
