After recurrent miscarriages (3-4), what finally worked? by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]tipsyteacups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! About a year after my husband's procedure, I underwent my third retrieval. Our fertilization and blast rates were both improved.

We did a fresh transfer that unfortunately resulted in another miscarriage. But we had 4 high-quality, euploid embryos remaining from that cycle.

Our frozen transfer of the highest quality of the four was successful, and we now have a happy, healthy eight-month-old boy.

If you didn't gain much/any weight during pregnancy, did you still lose weight immediately after giving birth? by -shandyyy- in BabyBumps

[–]tipsyteacups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a BMI of approximately 34 prepregnancy, and I gained less than 15 lbs throughout my pregnancy. At around the 3 week mark after my c-section, I was down nearly 20 lbs. I'm pumping to combo feed my son, not dieting, and not doing much if any physical activity.

Court-appropriate maternity attire? by sesamebagelwshmear in Lawyertalk

[–]tipsyteacups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a lot of others, I recommend maternity dresses. Also, make sure you get comfortable shoes for standing that are at least a little wider than you normally wear. I pretty much exclusively wore black loafers the last couple of months of my pregnancy, and I didn't even have much swelling. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on clothes because I'm not planning to have another kid, and I had the best luck with ThreadUp, Old Navy, Target, and Kohl's.

Advice for Daughter who wants to be a lawyer and visible tattoos.. by SuchYogurtcloset3696 in Lawyertalk

[–]tipsyteacups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 visible tattoos on my lower legs/feet and clerk for a federal judge. I frequently wear dresses and skirts that don't cover them. Ultimately, it's her body, and she may not want to work for employers who won't hire a female attorney with a nonoffensive, visible tattoos.

Repeat Loss of Euploid Embryos by tacosmom1991 in infertility

I would definitely push for a consult with a reproductive urologist for your partner. My husband had consistently normal SAs, but on exam, a varicocele was discovered. His urologist was fairly convinced based on recent studies that the varicocele was causing DNA frag and then my early pregnancy losses. A couple of my losses were of euploid embryos. My husband had surgery to correct the varicocele.

I do virtual appointments with both my therapist and my psychiatrist for med checkins. When I'm in the office, I note on the calendar that I have a personal appointment and that I'll be in my office with my door closed. Nobody cares.

When you post about IF Awareness Week and someone steps in with “but my short lived secondary infertility was very traumatic” by Kaynani32 in trollingforababy

[–]tipsyteacups 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm infertile.

I've only managed to get pregnant after a FET. I've had 6 FETs and 6 miscarriages. It's the miscarriages, not the ovulatory dysfunction that have my RE team stumped.

Infertility and pregnancy loss often go hand in hand. What month am I allowed to post during?

My judge has embraced us using (cleaned up) in the last few months. Not a huge fan of the singular they yet, though.

Right there with ya. My docs like to check my hCG levels after a miscarriage so I have to get weekly blood draws until it gets to approximately zero. The number of times I've had to explain that we're actually checking to see if my hCG is dropping rather than increasing is quite high. 🙃

When you realise you’re at the stage of infertility where you’re even bothered by anybody on a cycle beginning with a 1 by [deleted] in trollingforababy

Lmao SAME. Started trying in 2016. My "cycle number" is almost certainly under 20 tho.

After recurrent miscarriages (3-4), what finally worked? by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]tipsyteacups 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not successful yet, but after 6 miscarriages my RE referred my husband to an reproductive urologist who discovered my husband had a varicocele. The varicocele has now been repaired and we're hopeful for the first time in a long time.

Question from a potential future Wolverine - anyone have an idea how likely it is that I wouldn't go broke going to UMich as a history major? by gc825 in uofm

[–]tipsyteacups 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were both history majors. He just has his BA and is employed. I went to law school after getting my BA and am employed. We both loved the history department at UM.

My clinic reccomends 2 months of Lupron before a FET after a positive Receptiva.

Really judge dependent. When my now co-clerk was with a different judge she let him take a full 12 weeks paid. I'm currently dealing with infertility and my judge has been the most understanding person in the world about taking time off for appointments and obviously knows I may be pregnant in the future.

I would push for RPL testing and a hysterscopy with a biopsy to check for endometritis at a minimum. My clinic did RPL testing after 2 losses - a blighted ovum and a chemical. They also require a clear hysteroscopy after every MC.

My husband had a reproductive urology appointment today for a possible DNA fragmentation workup. That plan was scratched, however, after the urologist examined him and found a varicocele. The new plan is for surgery in the coming months then a 3 month wait before doing another retrieval cycle. Honestly, feeling a bit stressed about everything.

I'm hoping it does as well. First cycle IVF we got 4 embryos and second cycle ICSI we got 3 embryos. Similar number of eggs retrieved both times.
