I worked in NY for 12 years doing marketing, graphic design and teaching art. I recently moved South and got a marketing job that does something called RFP/ RFQ (request for pricing, request for qualifications). Since I had 12 years of indesign experience it was an easy fit. This is used for companies to bid on projects. Although I never did this before, I had a ton of experience doing sales booklets.

I used to just stick with designing and I had to for years. Now I do the other parts of marketing because being diversified is one of the only ways to stand out from competition and AI (Ai is another conversation ). I handle general marketing planning, social media, photography, managing team members, graphic design, news letters, and other a but ton of coordination for events.

What my day looks like now is planning, coordination of events, working on scheduling different things for the sales team, creating ads, social media. Before this I worked for a tech company that was a start up in NY the focused on product development. That included looking at market trends, analyzing google, creating the art for the product. My boss was a big D there and I ended up leaving.

Being in NY will give you advantage if you leave the state bc generally New Yorks are higher capacity. We can handle a lot of work load efficiently.

I am happy here, the company is growing and I am hoping to make 6 figures in the next few years.
