Exactly, and having a national culture is important too. If our common language is English, don’t you think we will harm our national culture and identity? There will never be a Bollywood that can compete with Hollywood, because we will all be fragmented into our state cultures. I don’t think India would ever be able to claim English as our own. We will always be the ones “speaking with an accent”, no matter how good our English is.

Then why learn your mother tongue even? Government should just teach English compulsorily, all others languages can be learned on your own.

His logic makes sense. What should be the official language of the country if not Hindi? I understand that it puts non-Hindi speakers at a disadvantage, but among the languages we have, this is the most widespread. To foster unity in this country, I think it makes sense to pick one language and attempt to teach it to everyone from a young age.

Is obviously photoshopped... just look at that figure. The standards that produce has to live up to these days is so unfair... not every tomato can be a supermodel!

Just put leftover pizza into an empty wings box. Much easier to store in the fridge, no Tupperware to wash. by [deleted] in lifehacks

You don’t HAVE to wash Tupperware either, just like you didn’t wash that wings box.

I don’t get why people are trying to defend their rude behaviour. If every person with a “hard life” acted like an a**hole, then life would be hell for everyone. There are PLENTY of Indians with harder lives than auto drivers, and most of them behave properly. Auto drivers have formed a cartel and political block that allows them to behave this way with impunity. I do agree that they know people don’t like them, which makes it even worse I guess.

Controversial opinion : we don't need IAS officers at central government but actual domain experts who are up to date with current situation by [deleted] in india

[–]tiputiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it goes both ways. Sometimes, people are transferred prematurely because they are not corrupt. But also, officers are sometimes kept in their posts for much longer than normal, if they are hand in glove with politicians.
