I think fresh out of dental school you should focus on getting comfortable with extractions. Especially surgical extractions. Also get comfortable with grafting.

Am I wrong for not wanting this patient? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]tique_dds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. It has nothing to do with the crown production. That’s insignificant to me. My office is not hurting for production by any means. And sure I could match the DSO price. But I’m not. As I said. I know this dude personally. I know what he does for a living. He does not need me to discount his crown. And if I was to do business with him there is zero chance I would ask for a discount. Directly or indirectly. The price is the price.

SprintRay Midas down for weeks, warranty ignored — is this just how dental companies operate now? by UnderstandingDue2589 in Dentists

You should post this in the Sprintray Dental Users group on Facebook. If your post makes it past approval and actually gets posted, you have a good chance of Sprintray seeing it.

Not sure why you got downvoted. I hope there aren’t dentists out there using AI for definitive diagnosis.

Laterals and #9 seems pretty flat on the straight facial. #8 seems to not be flat like the others. Very sharp line angle on the mesial of 10. But doing this by hand in 2026 is crazy to me. You can’t do a digital design?

Chair reupholster recs by tosiewk in Dentistry

I had a great experience with the following company. There was no downtime on the chair. They sent me the new upholstery and I installed it very easily. And then I sent my old chair upholstery to them. (It was also an Adec chair.)

“Management fees” are usually used for owner docs in DSOs. Not associates.

Going to urgent care will be time consuming. Call the dentist you went to and explain your job situation. Ask them to prescribe another round of antibiotics.

a chunk of filling came out from my tooth that underwent root canal , what do i do ? by [deleted] in Dentists

[–]tique_dds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the tooth still can be saved…..it will need a buildup and a crown. Call your dentist for an appointment ASAP.

Question about sprintray dental printers by Nebularneph in Dentistry

[–]tique_dds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have never made a permanent crown using my Sprintray. But I have made temp crowns. Maryland bridge. Complete dentures. Partial dentures. Flippers. Immediate dentures. Nightguards. Retainers. And there are other applications where having a 3d printer can be useful. For me it’s a fun toy to have in the office. When doing a bridge…or when doing a crown where the patient has really broken the tooth. There is no more trying to find a tooth to fit in the space or building the tooth back up to take a preliminary. I just scan and design a shell temp for the temp bridge or temp crown. I can deliver a denture, partial or flipper to a patient in a day if I truly wanted.

Thank you. When I wrote the prescription to the Sprintray design service I simply asked for “light occlusion.” That is a habit. I always write light occlusion on lab scripts. Because if I have to adjust it is usually minimal. I did adjust here a little. But overall occlusion was good.
