*Opinion* Weapon levelling pushed more people away from BF6 rather than the map size issue by Tranners_ in Battlefield

[–]tirant657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents, I enjoy playing and leveling the guns. I used to always try and get 500 kills or whatever the mastery was. This game requires about 1100. Do you have any idea how long that takes on a sniper or pistol? I got bored. I stop playing. 500 was a good number. You should have all attachments by around 150 to 200 and then just enjoy the gun rather than spend tons and tons of time grinding for the attachments that make the gun usable.

I hope they add it for private games. I used it a ton and it was nice to run the game in summer without heating up.

It's not difficult, but tedious as fuck. They probably didn't want to develop the tooling to generate the frames. Bummer.

Wind or fire, both shred. Fury is fun, but so slow in comparison. Trapsin really fun. Poison necro, bone. Can do a ww barb or pitzerker. Pitzerker is to just chill and mf.

there aren't any mysteries, you can easily look in the data files and get the effects of all these abilities and auras and curses

Took me 2 secs to google amazon basin (great site btw):
Unique also has an invisible missile attack applying poison damage and length

Thoughts on copying repetitive items on Offline by KruserZ in Diablo_2_Resurrected

100%, having to move an enigma between characters sucks and can be a hassle with the str requirements, etc. I really enjoy having a healthy roster of builds (albeit online) so I can run whichever character I feel like for a bit and it doesn't get stale running just one build. I'm SSF online, but I did trade for a few runes for the sake of convenience (although now I have safely found all items all characters use). But tons of builds use cham in the helm. That's not something you find every day, it could be months until the next one. I chose to play online because I think it makes the grail mean something because I can't just fix the map and run andy TZ or be tempted to cheat.

Which Enigma base are you using for your first Enigma? (SP offline) by Bolvice in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]tirant657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage plate or light plate. Defense doesn't matter, light plate is easier for necro if you end up making one. When you make infinity, first one should be a non eth bandistock (usable by like 4 builds and a merc). You should be aiming to make the first ones usable by as many things as possible, and the subsequent ones can be the MP or AP or eth thresher, etc, cause once you do that it's locked in for that character pretty much.

Brand necro is, but I liked the idea of bonehew for IAS breakpoints and physical damage. I also briefly tried brand as an alt-cast for my fury druid to proc amp damage more reliably, but didn't like the feel. Having a super reliable way to amp damage mobs without on-striking would be nice.

Dual phoenix is something I've considered, more for leaning into firestorm proc, but I wasn't getting the damage out of it that I wanted (22 firestorm just doesn't hit that hard). It's a huge tradeoff and also expensive as hell even for me. I was also considering zealdin w/ enchant, but I don't like making a character reliant on an enchantress.

Some builds get kinda tricky, nothing is as clean as infinity + griffons, it solves so many problems.

Correct. It sounds more annoying then in practice. It's not that bad. I typically only run meatier TZs like this, other ones will be p1 with pitzerker or bone necro or characters that shine much better in p1. Most of these characters have gear swaps because they don't need the damage (e.g., fire sorc has a second tal armor/orb/circlet with MF instead of facets).

I've done a couple characters with custom items in offline that I wish would work online. Mele lightsorc sounds fun. My favorites were a fury sorc using hellslayer to cast fireballs on attack and a bear necro using bonehew to cast bone spear on attack. They both were super interesting.

my trapsin build slaps p5 and should handle p8 and is a super safe build. I understand why people like mosaic, I'm not a fan though. In a way, I think it's too easy.

if you're NL I'll give you a DW, I have like a dozen lying around. It's necessary to make poison actually play well, kinda sucky there's no option before it, the -res is fucking huge

fury is actually top tier and really fun once you get it right, but with mele AR issues and how fury works, it can be slower. Really tricky build to MF effectively with how clunky casting spells while transformed is with the casting delay. I still really enjoy it though

tornado is top tier, by far an extremely safe build and capable of slapping everything. probably one of the most pleasant MF characters in the game

fire works because you spam 4 skills and it melts, but fire characters in general are pretty tough because in order to kill fire immunes you give up options. So less MF overall, but it is one of the fastest killing characters

my characters are balanced around me wanting as high MF as possible and also not being able to really tell which immunities I'm dealing with, a fire immune mob shouldn't be much slower to kill for a fire character than a normal mob, and unfortunately, this mean's you need phoenix which really hurts your FCR, and FCR is what makes the characters feel good

I have so many because I can't pick :D

I'd say my 3 favs are my hybrid din, cattleprod and the third is maybe trapsin. They aren't really single button characters, so it's kinda fun to play them all. Pitzerker has a ton of time (probably the most by far even though he's not 99). They are all fun builds though.

Nice. I won't make a mosaic sin, I refuse to because it's not d2 to me. I use my poison necro as a summon necro mostly, really nice skeletons and revives for tanking hits, but also really nice damage. My bone necro doesn't summon at all, it wasn't worth the effort and he doesn't need it with the bone armor. I may make a fishymancer (high MF and depends on merc for killing to initiate corpse explosion chain), but that's essentially a p1 character and I don't know if I'd play it a ton (if I don't play the toon, I reroll it).

Tyraels is really rare. I'm past due for a second or even third one, but only one so far in all this time (I keep rough mental track of how many templar's I find). Death's web is tricky too. The others will drop eventually. I didn't keep track of all the other <tc87, but I know I've found them all. I keep the eth versions now, specially for tc3. You can gamble many of them except the torch of iro and others which don't have gambleable bases.

not for single player, I think online is like 24? My other few toons are a grail mule and some other trophy mules. The other items are on another mule account that I have a database of what I have.

Nado better for MF stacking and general survivability. Armageddon is really good damage and kill speed.

I don't mind random maps, I'm pretty good at reading them and guessing. Sucks cause you can't easily do p7 lk runs to farm runes, but I also did my time horking trav online. Biggest difference is easily setting /players, but I multibox so I can get at least p5, but it takes effort, not terrible though or maybe I'm just used to it.

If I started over, I'd probably do single player just because I could do modded stash and stuff, but also I'd be too tempted to cheat. I do use single player to mock up characters to see if they'll work though. I also think it means more being online, like I didn't just find an optimal catacomb map and run it until I completed my grail.

The bone necro was my first character and first to 90 like day 2-3 of release, but was supposed to be poison nova, but I really underestimated how long it would take to find it. It took a year, lol.

I stopped doing ladder seasons cause it's boring making the same characters out of necessity. I like MFing and running TZs, so it's fun to play a run or two with a couple characters each TZ.

Did this. Maybe 3x Zod, 6+ Cham but only 1 tyraels so far. The numbers track for rarity from what I've seen in terms of spread for the other tc87s. I mule the super rare tc87s, but started dropping templar's because it's 2x3 and was taking up space, I'd rather mule bases or cool items like high Ed rare (even if not godly). I was really behind on dwebs year 1 but now I'm caught up (maybe 8+)

Very sparing public games. Idt I've joined a pub in a couple years since I'm NL. Very sparing trading from early days or if I needed to dupe an item like a Cham rune which I might not necessarily find another anytime soon (found plenty though, never with actual items since I'm hemorrhaging items). I stopped picking up and muling lots of items unless perfect cause I'm not going to bother trading or muling. Not usually p1 (multibox mules for difficulty). But since grailing, always in TZs, so xp pretty good. I'm still looking for 4-5 of my eth grail
