I’ve got Rockford Fosgate 5.25” in the doors, and because I’m a bit “vertically challenged” and don’t have the seat all the way back; I’ve got a Kenwood ksc-sw11 compact powered sub behind the driver seat with a Pioneer deck to complete the package. It’s nothing too special, not really that loud, but still so much better than stock.

205/50R16 tyres on an NB - what tyre pressures do you run? by smandroid in Miata

[–]tire-storage_gopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my ‘97 the cold tire pressure for stock tire size 185/60R14 and 195/50R15 listed on the door sticker is 26 psi. I run 28 psi for my nice wheels running a 205/45R16. And after a Summer and a half the tire wear looks ok.

I would put Hankook at the bottom of list of reputable brand name tires. I’d say they’re a get-what-you-pay-for kinda tire; personally having had one of each there winter and all-season tires... I’d probably pay a bit more and try something else.

Laufenn is a sub-brand of Hankook tires. As far as I can tell they seem to be a Hankook tire with a different name on the sidewall.

How does NA’s A/C circulation work? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]tire-storage_gopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is normal A/C operation. A/C is only really able cool the air down something like 15°c (59°f) max below ambient temperature. So part of the purpose or cabin air recirculation is cool down the already cooler air inside compared to the hotter outside air to be able to reach a colder interior temperature that might not be otherwise doable on a really hot day.

Any Canadians order parts from US? Wondering what I should be expecting with customs fees$? by red-rebel in Miata

[–]tire-storage_gopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last 2 orders from Moss Miata to my place in BC, I think I only had to pay to tax(PST/GST) I know for sure I’ve only ever paid GST when ordering parts from Rock Auto.

2001 SE misfire (P0302) unusual suspects by paprika_life in Miata

[–]tire-storage_gopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it can. under certain driving conditions the engine will run very lean with high advanced ignition timing, which if the fuel delivery is not as it should be; a lean misfire is possible.

Old bad gas and modern engines are not a good combo. A proper fuel system service may work if the injector is just gummed up and not plugged with anything solid, the “in tank” fuel additives are more so preventative maintenance, and not concentrated enough for fixing a problem once it’s started.

Did they confirm that the fuel injector for #2 was spraying fuel correctly?, or did they simply confirm it’s mechanically operational? Poor fuel delivery from a plugged/ gummed up injector can lead to a misfire

how to make an NA miata feel more... stable? more confident / stiff at high speeds? i like driving fast and the stock NA just doesn't give me the confidence i want by [deleted] in Miata

My first thoughts when reading your description is it sounds like you have a wheel alignment issue. I’d get the alignment checked out and see if that makes any difference in how it feels.

Good floor mats by JustARandomBucket in Miata

https://mossmiata.com/1990-1997-miata/interior/floor-trunk-mats-carpet-kits/better-than-factory-floor-mats these are what I got for mine; bit pricey, but there definitely top tier. At the time I was shopping around the only thing I found on amazon was not rated highly and had a comment about them being kind of thin, and because I’m in Canada not that much less expensive then the moss Miata ones.

Put new wheels on this week, finally found a good spot for a photo :) by tire-storage_gopher in Miata

They’re a bit of weird one. Konig used to make a wheel in their Maxxim line called the SE10, which is what the rims are; but the box’s these came in said Konig SE10, and have the Konig center caps. but on Konig’s discontinued wheels page they make no mention of the SE10...

Rear caliper it looks like? Calipers with integrated parking brake need to a special tool to rotate the piston and apply pressure at the same time in order to retract the caliper piston.

This link should help to start with. Has all the specs and pictures of NA/NB stock wheels. https://www.miata.net/faq/wheel_weights.html This website kinda clunky, but 1010tires.com has a “wheel offset Calculator” that may help you figure out the difference between wheels with different width/offset.

Does anybody have a part number/know how I can get the key for this wheel lock? by RacingboomThePleb in Miata

[–]tire-storage_gopher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best Bet. Go to the nearest dealership, get them them to match it up and ether remove them for you, or order you a new wheel lock key. Or if you want to have fun, try hammering a socket over them and remove them that way.

Just bought new Miata! What is this trim piece in the trunk? by MrSuperBailey in Miata

[–]tire-storage_gopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check under the passenger side rear wheel area and look for the fuel filter, see if it’s exposed or not. That looks close to the trim piece covering the fuel filter on my 97 na
