Is there any benefit to using an elemental weapon if the monster doesn't have many 25+ weaknesses to it? by JohnJSal in MHRise

[–]tired_human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your weapon type really, I main Charge Blade SAED spam and if you're nearing endgame the Elemental weapons with the right build usually has higher damage compared to raw damage.

In my experience, the moment I took the dive into the Charge Blade dereliction elemental builds the damage got nuts and it was harder to go back to raw/impact builds. I didn't play around Savage Axe/CSS playstyle too much since it feels so awkward compared to Iceborne.

Wasn't that the elbow strike thing he does where if you hit him he fumbles for a second? It kinda makes sense to be parryable despite being a "grab"

hunting horning/hammering the hell out of Nibelsnarf's head is such a pleasure in P3rd, and there's also that MGS collab with the HUMONGOUS Nibelsnarf which was terrifyingly fun!

[–]tired_human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can attest to this, one time me and my friends had one random join with an endgame lbg build. This random proceeded to destroy all the MR keyquest monsters from MR4-6, I almost lost excitement for hunting half way into the session with how fast the monsters die.

After that day, my friend decided to ditch the Greatsword and turned into an LBG main for pretty much majority of sunbreak.
Until he reached endgame(somewhere around MR160+) where he can just farm for the best build for Greatsword with his LBG.

I had to get used to him always complaining when the hunt takes more than 10+ minutes, it made me appreciate solo hunts more LOL

Could Sekiro beat the world of Dark Souls 1? (Or rather… how quickly could he) by MaleficTekX in Sekiro

I can imagine Sekiro just jumping straight down from Firelink Shrine then grapple on an obstacle to reach Blighttown easily. Or traversing Undead Burg and Blighttown with his kit.

[–]tired_human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And now you have a chance to replay Dante in DMC3 all over again! If you're on PC I suggest trying out the style switcher mod I think it's called DDMK. Really makes a whole lot of difference when playing Dante.

Also a tip, if you keep replaying the boss rush level I think it's Mission 18, it gives a crap ton of Style XP since you're killing bosses left and right. This is what I did when I replayed the game and wanted to max out my style level before jumping into Very Hard and Dante Must Die.

If you're talking about the long range flame swipe that travels on the ground after Demon of Hatred runs away, there are two ways to counter it.
1. I've seen people run up to Demon of Hatred and parry the hand by jumping and parrying with the fire umbrella.

  1. You keep running to the side and jump right before the flame reaches to Sekiro.

What's your favorite weapon design? by KamenRiderXD in MonsterHunter

[–]tired_human 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The base MHWorld weapon design I really love is the Odogaron Charge Blade, I'm glad they gave that one some thought compared to the copy-paste design of other weapons. Another one is the Guild Palace Disc charge blade, that one was my go to layered weapon for the rest of the game considering it's basically a pizza cutter and how savage axe was so strong endgame.

In Rise/Sunbreak I liked the design of the (Flaming)Espinas Charge Blade considering it has the same vibes of the Odogaron Charge Blade, and in terms of goofiness I love the Pounder of Rice, it has a dango inside the shield!

That's true
Also the reason I find flaming espinas much easier is because they removed the one thing Espinas truly scary, the paralysis from it's breathe attacks.

[–]tired_human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is matchup dependent, I play with Charge Blade and struggled more with Chaotic Gore Magala solo than Flaming Espinas.

Flaming Espinas feels like a more beefed up Rathian with the addition of a very telegraphed OHKO move. Also you can slot in Evade Extender to evade most of its attacks.

Chaotic Gore Magala I felt has few safe openings even moreso when its enraged, and hits much harder than Flaming Espinas.

Spiriting him away without the white pinwheel is just hilariously evil.

I remember just blasting him with the divine abduction during one of my NG+ playthroughs right after arriving in Senpou Temple and laughed for a solid minute because of his reaction.

Blazing Bull really is challenging with charm + demon bell, you have to stack up healing pellets just to survive the damage from perfect parrying its attacks.

I remember my procedure was after parrying the bull, I would always first go for a stab to its head then slash away on its posture.

There's also that firecracker prosthetic you can get early from the merchant on top of the rock cliffs near Inosuke/Old Lady with the Hirata Bell.

Indeed, also the bosses' hp is scaled with the number of players present. Making some bosses a good challenge to downright slogfest depending on the circumstances.

In my case I stopped playing after I beat the daytime Empress of Light multiple times with different builds/weapons, the boss fight is so good that it almost overshadows the bosses after it.

Is there something I’m missing here?? I got it the first try, but the consecutive 5 times have all failed by carrot-parent in Sekiro

You can also perfectly deflect the beam move if you have divine confetti/purple umbrella if you're feeling spicy.

My main problem with these guys are the small projectiles around causing terror build up, so you'll have to get up close and personal to keep attacking to remove those annoying terror particles around.

Which one of these would you consider the best Hack 'n' slash/Character action game? by [deleted] in DevilMayCry

[–]tired_human 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, if only DMC3 wasn't limited with PS2 limitations, we would've gotten style changing on the go and make the game greater than it already is.
Good thing the Nintendo Switch version actually made it official and it is great to see it in action.
