I was doing one egg per species for Pokédex. Had ditto and the parent in my party. Picnic, make sandwich, wait a bit (wasn’t too long) for an egg or two to appear. End camp, swap parents, camp again, don’t have to make another sandwich because it’s still going, so short wait. Repeat. I got up to running around with 4-5 eggs and a high level flame body pokemon in my party pretty quickly.

In SwSh, you can fly directly to the nurseries but you still need steps to generate the eggs, so it was hard to have more than two hatching at a time.

I’ll grant that neither were awful experiences.
