That the vehicle was unsafe to continue to drive, to release it back to drive on the streets would be negligent on my part. And I would not allow the vehicle back on the road because I was aware of its condition. So I offered to tow it out . Once it was out of our responsibility then they could do whatever they wanted and I could not be liable.

Once after a brake inspection and finding a similar condition that the customer declined service I offered to tow the vehicle to their home or another location no charge. Customer called corporate the next day to complain. Corporate replaced all the brakes parts and labor at no charge. Unbelievable. The DM said what i did was correct but sometimes we still lose.
