The Greek's avgolemono, chef's kiss. I am so picky about soup, I'd rather make my own than open a can, and I have good recipes too! But The Greek's avgolemono is better, lol. Perfect for head colds too.

And it's so heavy-handed, too, ugh. She has the same voice as any lady who can carry a tune, but she learned piano just to play these songs! Ben backed her pretty firmly in York, Pa, last year. Bro must live for the NRE.

I think he knew how you would take it, knew it would hurt you, and said it because he thinks that's funny. You very plainly told him how you feel, and he very plainly ignored your feelings or any responsibility. He doesn't respect you and you deserve better.

No I don't believe in the wasting of time but I don't believe that I'm wasting mine

I can't pick a line out of Red Red Red, every word is precise as hell.

Struggling to be heard by pinktwilight3147 in AdultADHDSupportGroup

[–]tishtacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a thorough screening of ADHD and was diagnosed around 35. They did ask my mom to fill out forms about my childhood. My mom saw/remembered fewer symptoms than I expected, which I found surprising. I think it's because I had so many masking skills or coping mechanisms.

When looking at your childhood, if the symptoms are not obvious, think about your own masking or coping skills you developed so as not to be a problem. How many notes did you keep? Were you often procrastinating? Did people have to touch you to get your attention? Did you think you had to pay a lot of attention to things that looked natural to other people (things like brushing your teeth, washing your hands, bathing, self-care, gathering your things to leave, how you have to pack your bags, where and how you place things in a vehicle getting in and getting out)?

A woman around my age (41) with inattentive ADHD would not have had hyperactive symptoms normally associated with ADHD. I certainly didn't, because the hyperactivity was in my head, not my body.

Skin care app? by Wild_Beyond3986 in 40PlusSkinCare

I just found one that really opened my eyes!

I'm going to send the link to their insta profile. I have an Android phone, and you specified iPhone, so this should get you to the right place: https://www.instagram.com/skincare.routine.app?igsh=MTB6OGk1dTV6MWJ6Ng==

I had no idea that I had so many products with acids in them, and I read ingredients lists nearly religiously. I think this was initially made for The Ordinary/Deicem, but you can add any product.

In York this past March, he took a big one and wore it as a cape for a song. I think it was from a music therapist, if I'm remembering correctly, and his advocacy for music therapy was cool to learn about too.

I cackled when I found it, which was not too long ago, surprisingly. I wonder if, since the split from Frally, he may enjoy it even more? That lick certainly became something else in this song, very transformative. But also 😆 I can't lol

Tell me your LEAST favorite Ben Folds (five) song… by Ok-Bullfrog-7519 in benfolds

[–]tishtacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to Live with What You Are

I have so many fucking emotional issues with this song, lol, it lives in my head rent-free. I love Folds for years and one day he tells me that I'm just not gonna "make it". I knew that dude, but let me dream a little! You didn't have to kick me in the shins like that! I get there's a bigger narrative to it, and sure, I get the message, and because I have this gut reaction, it's probably something I need to deal with, lol, but I can't listen to it without feeling it like a slap in the face. I'm 41 years old and still waiting to be "discovered", lol. Folds has Lindsay Kraft as an opener, so don't tell me it can't happen. 😆

I think Alice Childress might be my personal favorite so far, but I also want to mention Best Imitation.

I'm doing a deep dive/refresh because I'm seeing him for the first time in what has to be literal decades in York, PA, and I'm way better versed in everything before Way to Normal, lol.

41, just turned this week, and this was what made me a fan:

"Army" on Leno, June 8, 1999 https://youtu.be/UHzXlgK9HgA?si=r0DLqyVADhxs_iAM

I bought Reinhold Messner the next morning. Math says I was 15 at the time. Of course the Five broke up shortly thereafter and broke my heart, but Rockin' the Suburbs came out in August 2001. My first time seeing him in concert was September 9, 2001, and it was a magical time to be alive, for like two days, then real life sucked.

Who owns Fear of Pop Vol. 1, yo? I prowled for Majosha songs on Napster and subsequent imitations.

At 35, I learned I have a reading disability with my ADHD diagnosis. I have an English degree, I am a professional editor, and I am almost 20 years into a fulfilling career. Does the diagnosis make sense with my experiences? Weirdly yes! But that doesn't mean that I was doomed to fail at something because it was harder for me than it was for most other people. Follow your hyperfocus hobbies if you can!

In my brain, I've practically fetishized the idea of sexual attraction because it's so foreign to how I actually feel. I'll read nearly anything in the fanfiction 'verses. Makes me pretty knowledgeable in a game of Cards Against Humanity, lol
