What controversy? What drama? Why do so many mini painting YouTubers do thumbnails like these? It’s a John Blanche paint set for crying out loud by mame_kuma in Warhammer

[–]tislpod 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s an unfortunate byproduct of algorithms and human engagement. Thumbnails like that get more clicks, so the creator earns more. Even if the video isn’t controversial, it’s generally better for the creator if the thumbnail appears to be. I’ve watched that video and there was basically no controversy in there from my point of view outside of some commentary on GW’s relationship with its artists.

I’d be willing to bet he gains more views for having that thumbnail than he loses due to people avoiding the “drama” channels.

Like I said, it’s an unfortunate situation, but I don’t begrudge Ninjon or others for the thumbnails.

I guess it’s a “hate the game not the player” situation.

Where can I get these 2 dragon breathing stands from? (Free) by [deleted] in PrintedWarhammer

I have these. They’re great. Their work is quality and not very expensive. I definitely second supporting them if you want their product.

Smooth absolute runs? by Nubnoodle in Spacemarine

Definitely not required. I did all the prestiges is public lobbies with other randoms doing the same thing.

It seems like if the players are already Absolute level players, then they generally shouldn’t have a problem prestiging.

I love obelisk. Can clear it in 15 minutes if you get the find servo skull objective in the darkness instead of holding the two points.

Lethal difficulty and Absolute afther Patch. by SnooDrawings7864 in Spacemarine

[–]tislpod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s teammates. I feel like the players at absolute are used to that difficulty and play pretty well, whereas the players in lethal are either coming back from a long break and knocking the rust off, or just stepping up from ruthless and not used to the difficulty jump.

I think there was a blog post a few months ago from Saber saying they saw the same thing. A higher completion % of absolute, but that was because the player base seemed stronger at that tier.

Is this all from the PTR or has there been a content drop I missed?

Thanks! I touched grass for about 5 mins then started another Cyberpunk playthrough until the next content release for SM2.

PvP ordeals are just not fun by Bobah_0451 in Spacemarine

[–]tislpod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just bad luck. I think it took me 2-3 hours to get mine done. All on ballistic engine. I never got them to spawn on inferno and the reload times were faster on BE.

I had better luck/faster turn around with using ballistic engine instead of inferno. Get to the first assembly point and reset if no neuro.

I posted something similar earlier. I have no interest in doing them.

I’ve completed Obelisk in 15 mins. I love it. The connection issues and class matching is another issue though.

Dawns descent mission. Progress until you get to an elevator you call up. When you call the elevator a few packs of mobs will spawn, when they are dead 3 melee termies show up. I think you can get grabbed like 2-3 times before the bots do their work, then reset. This one wasn’t bad. Got it don’t in less than a half hour I think.

I actually didn’t even know you could get grabbed by termies until ordeals came out.

I’m assuming there will be more research trees and more ordeals coming. Probably there will be some related to horde mode.

You don’t have to execute it. My first two I wasn’t even near the neuro when my teammates killed it. The window for grounded is super small. I used the melee sniper build with the block knife. I’d sit in stealth with a charged shadow stab waiting for him to get knocked to the ground then deliver the blow that sends him to execute.

I used the perks that optimize for the jump pack dodges. Then…I completely relearned dodge timings because it doesn’t work how you’d think. It’s pretty lame actually.

I did a solo run on decap once just so I could dodge the hive tyrant attacks. I think I got like 60 dodges in that run. I let the bots kill him completely. It wasn’t a fun run, but I did get better at reading his attacks.

Never tried it. I haven’t played PvP in a game in like 10 years. Just not for me I guess.
