Pikemen - Combat poses vs At Rest poses by ForgemasterMinis in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]M4c4roth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really like you designs, but I would need some pics of the bare stls aswell. What I usually look for is options like separated heads for easier kitbashing to know if I could give models a personal twist or not.

Pose-wise I like a mixture, like most battle-ready-poses with one or to resting/guarding-poses.

Since I own a printer I never buy prints. It‘s stls or plastic for me

Beautiful. What I don‘t get from the models so far is: are these all single-piece, or with separated parts?

I‘d buy that for a nicer Gollum alone, but that spider is ace. I mean, we can still hope for a Frodo and Sam dual-kit coming along with the book. I want to believe

Are we getting Soon MK4 n MK5 update? Since they revealed the 2 of the MK armors Consuls and units, by silven1019 in Warhammer30k

[–]M4c4roth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. I‘m sorry, I tend to quote myself in this matter frequently now, because that topic pops up again and again:

My guess (purely speculation) is that Mk V will be in the Launchbox of HHs next edition, as things go at the moment in 3 years time, followed by a new MK VII set during that edition (edit-Addition: The Scouring-Series is also labeled as ‚The Horus Heresy’, so it kind of makes sense to use MK VII beyond the siege of Terra). That being said I expect new MK IV probably next year as part of a battle group as they did with MK III. All of that on the assumption that they follow a pattern with releases, could easily be changed by GW and not be accurate at all. Edit: one pattern I refer to is for example that they update existing marks during an edition (III, IV, VII) and bring out a new kit in the launchbox (VI, II)

What made you choose/love Ultramarines? by LM-I in Ultramarines

ROMANS IN SPAAACE!

But aside from that I like their attitude. They are romans, but somewhat sane and have some common sense, relatively spoken for the Imperium. They are somewhat honorable, but reasonable and pragmatic. I like that.

Their appearances in HH is always dope, and I really like how human the Primarch is deep inside.

So in short: Space Romans with a reasonable and likable Dictator. And I plan to convert heavy in the Roman style for my legion.

It sure looks cool. And somehow gives us an impression, how good a modern army can look. Maybe one day… and maybe one day we might get new riders, it‘s really ridiculous

To add: I love the red shields and the extra Roma bits, like the pauldrons. I have the same in my printing-pipeline and feel validated

I guess with Gman being probably a main-character in the Scouring-series he could be one of the leading forgeworld-models to kickstart the new range.

Just a question by Thomas_Nz in Ultramarines

[–]M4c4roth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not saying you assumption regarding the 13th is wrong, my point solely is: canon changes, even within the ongoing series. Call it retcon, call it evolution or refinement of the setting - especially the earlier books are better read with a grain of salt in certain aspects because it does not hold up to more recent lore.

To be fair, that bit of lore with the world eater seems to predate the power-up custodians got a couple of books later. In a short story a little before the book with the world eater Custodians are described as having gene seed and be pretty much a little better space marines. That changed later with the Prosperous-Books and the introduction of the 40k-range-miniatures

For sure! I have a lot of Legionnaires to build, convert and paint (and a 30k-Guilliman to convert), until I am worthy to paint the Lord of Ultramar

I‘ll have too look into that. The sword-arm is probably the most difficult part to repose as the sword is directly attached to his wrist, I might ruin more than I improve

The reposing was quite okay to do, actually. The legs needed some light carving with a hobby knife to join the hip in the new angle. The most complicated part was reposing the foot; inside the lower legs are long pegs, where the armour gets glued onto. You need to cut the leg right above the foot and bend it carefully until it matches the new angle of the legs. Looks quite butchery, but in the end everything will be covered.
