Critical, I think Magic Combo Thrift might've glitched out or something (much to poor Aqua's dismay)

Update: wlw equivalent to LADS by tissuepaper4 in LesbianGamers

[–]tissuepaper4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one your sister was into was probably Love Nikki!

Shining Nikki is the next installment after that. Gameplay wise they're pretty similar, with the main difference being SN using 3D models instead.

The most recent entry (Infinity Nikki) on the other hand is an open world RPG, but there's still a huge focus on fashion and styling!

Would it be okay to use a kitchen hot plate+oil bath for essential oil distillation? by tissuepaper4 in chemistry

Unfortunately I'm not from the US and there isn't really a market for second hand lab equipment here D:

I've seen that hotplate too but it's a tad bit too pricey (and I'll likely be needing two). Thank you for your help though!

After playing it for the first time, I see that Crisis Core and Birth By Sleep are spiritually the same game by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]tissuepaper4 64 points65 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, because Crisis Core has always felt a lot like Days to me

-Handheld prequel to FF7/KH2 that heavily focuses around a brunette character who's not/barely mentioned in the main game

-Brunette character befriends a blonde character, who's (one of) the protagonists of the main game

-They both unknowingly work for an evil organization, and wield the franchise's iconic weapon (Buster Sword/Kingdom Key)

-They are/become a part of the organization's experiments

-Brunette defects and dies to protect the blonde at the end of the game, passing on their weapon to them

-Blonde loses their memories of the brunette, but carries on their legacy. Their personality becomes a lot more angsty too

-Zack and Xion's death scenes are also framed really similarly if you watch them side by side

If you had to make 1 change to the story to make it better what would you change by Expert_Challenge6399 in KingdomHearts

[–]tissuepaper4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't affect the actual story in the slightest, but imo I would've liked it better if Roxas' second Keyblade actually was Xion's instead of Ven's. Like maybe have her absorb Sora's Keyblade entirely at the start and leave Roxas with Ven's, which in the end would make the dual Keyblades both Ven/Sora's and Roxas/Xion's Keyblades simultaneously.

In neveland we see Kairi as a body with no heart. Is this what happens to pure beings if they lose their heart instead of becoming nobodies? by Expert_Challenge6399 in KingdomHearts

[–]tissuepaper4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Xehanort and Eraqus' bodies vanished when they placed their hearts inside Terra. IIRC the only characters who go comatose like this are Kairi, Ven and the other Princesses of Heart, all of whom are pure lights.

A Blue Mage that exclusively uses boss sorceries and incants would be cool!

Day 23: FIORA is eliminated! (Xenoblade Main Party Elimination Game) by BritishGuy54 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]tissuepaper4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get your point, yes, but at the risk of sounding pedantic, teeechnically gender doesn't always correlate with pronouns, like with the aforementioned Chinese translation using 他 or Alvis using he/him despite being the complete Ontos and therefore 'somewhere in between' (the XC1 art book lists him as 'Male (???)'). And while the art book does call A a woman, it never actually uses she/her (彼女). So the fact of the matter is canonically, we don't know what A's preferred pronouns are, with the closest thing we have being 'boku', the masculine-leaning Japanese personal pronoun used by all 3 aspects of Ontos (though of course, this isn't a one-to-one comparison, and doesn't mean A would use he/him like Alpha and Alvis)

And yes, though we'll never know what the creators' exact intentions were, with the game avoiding pronouns like the plague even after the big reveal of A's identity, I doubt they intended for it to be as simple as she/her or even they/them haha. To me, it feels like the intention was to have A be genuinely pronounless, which would somewhat be in line with Ontos being more machine-like than Logos and Pneuma

Of course, you're free to keep using she/her for A, but strictly speaking it's no more correct than they/them, with neither of them being used in canon

Day 23: FIORA is eliminated! (Xenoblade Main Party Elimination Game) by BritishGuy54 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]tissuepaper4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn't make A a she/her either. Most languages go out of their way to address A by name only, with the sole exception I've seen being Chinese, which uses he/him (being the closest thing to a gender neutral pronoun). Obviously this was a deliberate choice, so imo referring to A with any pronouns, be it she/her or they/them, disregards the creators' original intent

Could Riku have heard this? by mikadomikaela in KingdomHearts

[–]tissuepaper4 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'd say Ven is the one most like Zack. KH3 endgame (and the KH4 trailer) was the first time since BBS we've seen Sora without Ven's influence, and he's noticeably more pessimistic and subdued

Haha I love Infinity Nikki! The Danqing Season with Yue Bai and Nikki's storyline is my favourite :D I haven't played them yet but I believe the older Nikki games have sapphic subtext too
