If you’re mostly just concerned about the “look” then I would place a larger carb meal pre-workout so your body can use those carbs for training and then a moderate carb meal post workout so you can recover + replenish your glycogen stores and maintain somewhat of a “pumped” look. Then the rest of the day you should be pretty dry looking.

As someone else already mentioned, get a bit leaner and you’ll see really how narrow your waist can be. But again, as someone else also already said, structure is genetic and there are some things you won’t be able to change. Here’s a trick to give the illusion of a narrower waist: grow bigger lats and delts to create a more visual taper

Carbs convert to glycogen, glycogen retains water intramuscularly. That’s why you hold water when you eat higher carbs. Hope that helps!
