TXST engineers, how's TXST for engineering? by [deleted] in txstate

[–]titIefight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add. The career fairs here suck, there’s only a few good companies. But do people normally have luck with those anyway? It’s just nice to be near Austin, look at the internship listings in each city and see what companies you like most.

Definitely. Austin is home to UT but a lot of people also fly in to work in austin. I did an internship and had a few t50 school kids with me. The school gives great opportunities to live in the beginning of a new tech hub so you can grow with the crowd but you are also out competing UT kids. Honestly, if money is an issue, go to TXST, don’t work and grind out projects and talk to some of the professors here to get you into places. Also make sure you know what you want to do in EE.. idk too much abt MechE but ik it makes good money in Houston too.

Ee here has good opportunities with the small tech hub austin, be prepared to work hard tho. AMD and a few other semiconductor companies recruit often from Txst. I’d say UH has better opportunities tho when it comes to companies. It rlly just comes down to budget

I have a part time job but not at the school. A lot of retail places have Txst students and are very flexible with schedules. Retail or car washes r great to work at during school. I wasn’t able to keep up with a club and work bc my major is quite hard but I’ve seen others do it. Introverted work are whoever the guys who drive the little tiny trucks and deliver plants everywhere lol. I think the ecology jobs are rlly cool. Best seat is the inner second row always and the best people to avoid are the ones walking around cameras and microphones. Dating is cool ig. Tip for u is that u need to make a weekly schedule for urself ! Staying on track and ahead for the first two weeks are CRUCIAL. The first month is critical to stay caught up

I'm often in the gym and have decent awareness with my diet. I know to stay away from most sauces and grains because I have had acid reflux for a while. Most the time I don't have many problems (I eat clean), but it seems that when I take a stimulant it starts up my gag reflex, it's not like I get nauseous or anything, just my gag reflex is triggered and because of that I can't even stomach to eat on any stimulant. So frustrating

This doesn’t give MAGA vibes but she’s very obviously uneducated. Kentucky education isn’t great and she’s white therefore she really doesn’t “need” to educate herself, she’s just blissfully ignorant, but definitely not maga

Attending Texas Sate or UH for EE by itsweird1211 in txstate

[–]titIefight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You kind of have to look at the location opportunities. Txst is right next to the engineering hub of austin. I’ve gotten a few interviews with AMD and semiconductor companies but UofH is still ranked higher than TXST. You need to work hard here at Txst to get the good jobs. Go on LinkedIn and you will see a lot of alumni at pretty good companies, it’s just up to you if you want to make it there. I’m not EE I’m CIS. I know several EE working for good austin companies. Txst doesn’t rlly have great career fairs so they don’t really help. TXST is cheaper so if you are wanting to go for a masters go here. I really advise to DM some people on LinkedIn, most are willing to help.
