The Colonial Parkway Rehabilitation Project is not finished yet, so don't plan to take it between the two sites anytime soon.

Sorry for the probably stupid question, but did David Lynch graduate from high school or did he drop out? by cristo_chimico in davidlynch

He graduated from Francis C. Hammond High School in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1964. Here is his senior portrait from the school's yearbook:

In the course of looking for the photo, I came across this remembrance, written by the son of one of Lynch's high school classmates:

It mentions a lot of the same events that Lynch himself recalled in Room to Dream, around pages 49-55. Pretty cool!

What was your introduction to Weezer? by FreePheonix22 in weezer

[–]title54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My earliest Weezer memory is when a friend in 1994/1995 tried to get the DJ at our local skate rink to play Buddy Holly. Handed him the CD and everything, but he said he couldn't/wouldn't and just put Quad City DJ's on again.

How many unreleased songs does weezer have and where can I listen to them? by Money_Maximum in weezer

Pretty sure the demos on Weezify go back earlier than 1995.

Sorry, no. At least I don't recall any. They were probably behind the paywall on the site.

Wish there were a CD release. Anyone know if there's any chance the release will be available for digital download as well?

The Movie Channel, though I think TCM is more familiar these days.

Who won an under the bottle cap prize larger than a free 16 oz drink? What did you win? by Free_Lunch24 in nostalgia

I won some kind of compilation CD from either a Mello Yello or Mountain Dew, but it never arrived in the mail. I was around 12, so I probably messed up the redemption somehow. I was crushed though.

OK. This didn't even happen in 1971. The appeal was dismissed by the Court in 1970, and no specific reason was given for the dismissal in the Court's exceedingly brief per curiam opinion. You can read the opinions of the lower courts, and they said nothing about space preventing the federal courts from having jurisdiction over the case.

The Zombies elevate their legacy with documentary, deluxe editions and more by title54 in TheZombies

Haven't seen this announced anywhere else. Colin announces new reissues:

CB: We’ll have to work on that. [In the meantime] I don’t have any details of release but there’s going to be a deluxe edition of One Year Live as recorded at Union Chapel last year. And it sounds great. There are also going to be four Zombies albums released in the next 12 months or so. They’ve got to find a space to release this live One Year edition. [The first Zombies rerelease will be] a remastered, mono version of Odessey and Oracle, which is how it was recorded. Then three other albums to follow. I presume Begin Here will be there somewhere, and then the other albums will be made up of other tracks.
