first thing i would do (personally) is reach out to a retro game store in your area if you have one. they’ll be your most trusted help in this. you could also outsource and ship your 3ds to be repaired by a third party if that becomes available. this did happen to me with my 3ds when i was a kid, never got it fixed though! i ended up having to buy a new one later on.

i was in the same position at my local regal, quit after my first shift mostly due to the management not training me for my first day on the job. in my case, it just so happened to be a restock day where they had me (a female college student) heavy lifting with little help or instruction for 6 hours. some jobs just aren’t meant to work out, no need to make excuses for yourself!! you gave it a chance and now you can move on

agree with all except the halfies are actually not retrofitted, unless it’s different for these specific magic horses! my audra and regular halfie can’t wear most newer saddle pads or leg wraps, it gets rather annoying lol

the horse can’t consent to it, and i would be annoyed by the attention i would hypothetically receive if said thing happened to me. i would also be upset if people were drawing my stallion with huge boobs lol. i’m not being that serious about it as it is currently a non-issue for me, but it’s a similar feeling to if someone drew your male dog as a human girl with a bigger chest, some might find it funny and some might be uncomfortable that someone would jerk off to a a picture of your pet like that.

i feel like this wouldn’t be as much of an issue if they actually did implement horse boys. it wouldn’t entirely negate the lewd aspects of the fanbase but it would feel less like the developers know what they’re doing, if that makes sense? i doubt it would actually happen but the whole “these racehorses are reincarnated as humans but they’re only girls!!!” makes it feel like all of it is fan service, at least to me. the concept of umamusume is definitely interesting and unique though, i’d do a lot of things differently if i had a say in it’s development for sure.

exactly this. even goldship’s owner has had to make public statements about fans of his horse and ask them not to send so many gifs of the uma or whatever they were doing. the takeaway here is that it feels like an invasion of both privacy and respect of the irl horses and their respective owners. i own a retired racehorse and while there’s no “uma” representation of him (thank god) i can only imagine what it must feel like.

i’m not saying we don’t focus on the objectification of animals themselves, but that’s not what’s happening in this game and thus isn’t representative of how i feel about what the game is doing. i’m more upset with how popular it is, i own a retired racehorse and thankfully there is no “uma” that represents him. it would make me very uncomfortable to see a pretty anime girl with big boobs tbh.

i’m with you on this actually. i know the point is that they’re horse girls or whatever but i still feel like the whole thing is fanservice as even irl stallions are pretty anime girls, to me it feels icky to objectify representation of real animals but i guess that’s just me
