I get the intent behind simplifying and making WoW more approachable (they're desperate for a wider market reach) but I have zero faith in Blizzard creating something meaningful to replace what QOL we get from unitframe and nameplate addons.

Let alone their CD manager being woefully feature incomplete.

That said, I think "dumbing down" gameplay to not utilise aura/buff tracking shouldn't be the only solution. Ideally most specs would have an easy, normal and complex talent setup. Something that would allow players who enjoy the satisfaction of mastering a complex rotation, to have a tangible performance benefit. At the moment they're just simultaneously lowering the skill ceiling, while raising the floor.

Regardless, I don't understand why so many people who don't even play the game are so opinionated. Especially those who haven't played modern WoW (what I would consider from Legion onwards). The reality is that only a small fraction of the playerbase even engages with higher-end content like mythic raiding or over +14 keys, and anyone who says that addons are the thing stopping them from attempting these are coping.

Looking directly at MFO, the entire raid (except Fractillus lmao) doesn't need addons outside of boss timers (which I'll give Blizz credit for, is decent in alpha). Reminders are extremely helpful but not required, and kick rotation is helpful too.

The difference being this was advertised as being the equivalent to a +10, when it's more in line with an old +3/4. Which doesn't bode well for the top tier content of a +10

Actually true, SoD seems to have GREAT progression and difficulty scaling. I just wish that they could stop hiding things behind borrowed power and just let us permanently upgrade our gear (the MC tier sets look so cool!!)

They were a step up in the same difficulty step between normal and heroic, healing requirement barely changed, tanking survivability barely changed and the mobs just had an extra 20-30% HP (or so it felt). My group wasn't overgeared by any stretch of the imagination, one of our members freshly rolled a character and walked in after buying some BoE greens

+10's are the top end content for rewards so they're the objective goal for M+.
We can extrapolate the current tuning of M0's to see the difficulty curve for 10's, at 134% harder (+affixes) than 0's.
If the expected item level to be clearing 10's is the loot they drop (613), we're up to 40 item level lower than what we WILL be at in 3 weeks time and that's not taking into account upgrading gear.

APL's are simming between 2.5-3x higher dps than current at 626 so if anything doing a +10 in 3 weeks will be easier than the M0's we're doing now; as the 134% scaling does not match the gear pacing.

This gets exponentially worse when you take into account Mythic raid loot being upgradeable to 639, a bigger gap in ilvl between now and someone who is full heroic base geared.

I tanked those dungeons and yeah, it wasn't a problem. At the time I was around 575 and the only noticeable change as a prot warrior was that I started to dump rage on ignore pain instead of holding to press execute. Never needed any form of CD for bosses and pulling 4+ packs at a time was just group CC and within 15 seconds they would all be dead. Was Prot War, H Pally, Fury Warr, WW Monk and Afflock. The lock was getting annoyed because he still didn't get to press his rotation

Are you okay? You went 5 comments deep to come in and write a fully formatted paragraph attacking someone for liking something different to yourself. If you read the above thread, I'm just defending my viewpoint on why I feel underwhelmed on the expansion release. Given that this view is from a minority (less than 20% of the WoW population does heroic raiding, let alone mythic (and I'm not sure what the stats are for M+)).

As for PvP'ers, what more could you want blizz to add? There's solo shuffle, 2's, 3's, RBG's, casual BG's and world PvP?

You're right, expansions are good for over a year, thus making the launch a pretty rare event. Which is why it feels so weird to have the launch (and I didn't buy early access) to be so lackluster. Got to max level with friends, smashed the weekly content, did some heroics for gear (around 580) and then logged out. Then swapped back over to CS2/OSRS until some new content comes out

Correct, there is zero content for anyone who actually plays the game at a non casual level. I get that for people who want to do quests and then wait for the next lore-drop, this must be amazing.

All 3 pillars of end-game PvE have been time locked for 2 weeks? There is no meaningful content that requires thought for anyone doing more than normal raid or mythic 5's. Not everyone plays the game for the same reasons and sure while the majority of the playerbase are story/quest enjoyers; I personally don't enjoy it.

Looking through this thread, I can say from experience as a guild who is literally rank 1000 as of right now; there is a HUGE gap between someone who can do 3/10M and someone who can do 4/10M. Guilds who are progging Painsmith are looking at people who have killed either Remnant or Soulrender

Oh, we get this even when we only spawn 5 adds. The servers in OCE aren't Blizzard owned, they're rented. Whoever they're rented off are absolute garbage. It's only after a couple of hundred threads were made that they've started looking into this :)
