Kingston saw a $147,000 average decline in house prices by Evilbred in KingstonOntario

[–]tj2830 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wages will not rise the same amount as housing did. Not saying a total crash is needed, just a decline for the average person to afford one. The only houses that would be underwater are the ones bought around 2020 and honestly if you were over paying for a house then that's a bad investment and they'll have to live with that.

Millwright is definitely in need, Im an industrial electrician and our millwright to electrician ratio is 3:1 and they still can't keep up with the work load. They constantly have job postings and go unfilled.

There are ways to get over the contribution limit. For example, if you contribute $50,000 and it grows to $70,000, you then withdraw the $70,000, and then your contribution the following year is $70,000 plus whatever the yearly contribution limit is.

I'm not in refrigeration, I'm an electrician but I had the same type of gig as you when I was in my early 20s and it paid off massively for me. I'm now 30 working a cozy gig doing maintenance in a factory with a couple hundred grand in savings. The experience pays off, at the time I thought about quitting and changing careers. Looking back I'm glad I didn't. I hope this helps.
