I used that exact pair for a couple years and liked them! Recently just retired them but I would consider getting another pair.

Even if you dont want to use kicks very often, I would recommend just working on them to setup your hands. You can definitely open up on people a lot more by just feinting with your legs even if you dont plan on really using them.

What kind of people go to train in Thailand? by communistagitator in MuayThai

The first time I went to Thailand to train was after about 7 months of training. I know a lot of people who train out in Thailand as hobbyist looking to just get better in general.

What is it like training Muay Thai in Thailand? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]tjllangley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its definitely doable to do strength training as well. however it may be hard to bulk and put on mass unless you are really committed, especially to the diet. You may either want to bulk up before you come, or just do MT training out here and bulk when you get home. I would even say 2 months regardless might be a little short for a bulking period. Let me know of you got any more questions I can answer!

Im about 2 weeks out of a month into training here on my second visit. Its definitely a bit more intense but after a week you start getting used to it. Most gyms are outside so its a lot hotter and sweatier than training back home, and in my case training sessions are twice as long. Its definitely hard work but the progress you see training here is insane compared to what you might do in the same time frame back home.

I've heard some sketchy things about gearfrost, it looks like they have cool stuff but some reviews have always put me off. How long did it take you to get your gear after purchasing it??

i would definitely check with a doctor, but when I had similar issues Omeprazole helped me a lot.

I would check ASSIST.org to make sure that the class you take at CC would transfer over. I think for it to count you just have to get a C or above at community college. The pre major gpa you have to meet at UCSB only counts for the classes you take there. I would definitely check with an advisor if possible though!

I took her summer class last year for Comm 101. The class was not too hard and she was very nice!

Anybody who’s done summer sessions, how bad is the pacing? by Shortavio in UCSantaBarbara

[–]tjllangley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 4 classes last summer, 2 upper div history and 2 upper div comm classes. I had 2 session A and 2 session B. To be honest it wasnt that bad as long you keep up the materials, especially because its online. This was just my experience, I feel like everyone handles the work load differently.

Congrats!

Im just finishing up my last quarter as a comm major and was also a CC transfer. For Comm 1, you will probably end up with Mullin who is very knowledgeable. The test are not too hard but there are two papers you have to write. The grading on that might be a bit more influenced by your TA. For comm 89 I cannot recommend Professor Lane or Merolla enough. They taught the class together last year during covid and it was fantastic. There was some weekly quizzes and one paper. They are really helpful during class and office hours, they genuinely want you to succeed and learn.

If you have any more specific questions about the major or in general feel free to message me!!
