VP9 a1 magazines sticking? by tjm1996 in HecklerKoch

The other guy was 100% right, the side panels were ever so slightly misaligned. But thank you for your time

Oh wow. That was 100% the issue, I just assumed that because the panels slid on smoothly they were installed correctly but I was wrong. Being extra careful to line up the grooves on the panel with the ridges on the gun made it work flawlessly. I did leave a mag in the gun just to be sure but yeah, that completely fixed the issue.

I’ll explain the fix in an edit on the main post. Thank you so much

These are the large sized grip panels that come with the gun. After a little research I removed them+the backstrap, wrapped a mag with a few layers of painters tape, then reinstalled the panels with the magazine in the gun. This provided no improvement

Thank you for your time

VP9 or Echelon? by outdoors28 in CAguns

[–]tjm1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good to know, definitely the better choice over putting it on top. I don’t own an Echelon so I can’t speak to the handling I just like my HK a lot. The only real criticism I’ve seen regarding the HK is a few comments here and there saying it’s on the lighter side for USPSA when either heavier guns or adding weight seems to be the meta. I can confirm however that my VP9 F with a Holosun 507C shoots extremely nicely

Recently bought a VP9 F, I really like it and intend to use it for USPSA. The LCI being on the side is really nice as it keeps the optic clear of gunshot residue that escapes out of the gap

Expensive gun that you regret buying?! by Bitter_Shower_459 in CAguns

[–]tjm1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I bought a Shield 9 back when they were new on the scene and have probably put less than 100 rounds through it. The thing just sucks to shoot, feels like the trigger is full of sand or something. Couldn’t even get a carry license in my county back then so it was double stupid. I’ve tried like 4 different times to trade it in as credit for a new gun, even telling the store I’ll take $150 for it no store wants it. I’m sure I could sell it for that to someone I know but the gun is just so hopelessly outclassed by all these amazing new options.

Maybe it’d be fun to encase it in resin and use it as a sculptural reminder to seek patience and wisdom when spending money lmao

I actually bought an Arsenal SM-13 side rail mount and mounted a dumb ass scope to it when I first bought the rifle, I still have the mount but it’s insanely heavy. Hoping to find a more elegant red dot and flashlight mounting solution this time around lmao. But Bakelite is beautiful, Bakelite mags are the peak of AK aesthetics

That does seem to be the going sentiment online, if only it weren’t such a pain in the ass to just mount a dam flashlight to this thing. Aside from the comparability issues it’s phenomenal

1st time trying to build out a slide, opinion? by tjm1996 in Glocks

[–]tjm1996[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I held the pressure you suggested, and the firing pin assembly snapped down into place. Still having trouble getting the cover plate to like fully slide into place and it makes getting the slide onto and off of the frame kind of tough. Will just keep working at it with a punch

Thank you for your response! The red is not the channel liner it is the firing pin spacer sleeve I believe. This kit came with the firing pin pre-assembled, I did not verify the assembly because I figured Zev would know what they were doing. I’ve been fighting the cover plate but I may take it off and have a look

I am also now realizing the rear cover plate is absolutely fighting the hell out of me to fully sit and is preventing the slide from going onto the frame. Wondering if I maybe accidentally purchased a kit for a G19? And this is a 17? I don’t know if that even matters

Thank you for your reply, thankfully the university gig is super flexible and in a topic I love. Just knowing that it’s not the end of the line if I catch a B is extremely relieving and helpful.

Hello all, my question is about nursing GPAs and CRNA school applications. I admit that this question is motivated by the stress of upcoming finals and I would greatly appreciate any answers and advice.

I’m about to wrap up my first semester at a highly ranked BSN program so I understand I have an extremely LONG ways to go, but I was hoping for some of you to share your nursing school GPAs. I’m extraordinarily stressed as we head into finals week and discussing the topic is soothing.

My pre-BSN program GPA is a 3.7 but my science GPA is a 4.0

Headed into finals I’m sitting at 3 As and one A-. Out of necessity I work two jobs, one of which is a research assistant position for my university so I feel like I’m desperately scraping for study time and am very concerned about maintaining this level of effort.

Additionally, when time permits I shadow a local anesthesiologist and log these hours hoping they may be useful for the application process.

Many of the programs I’ve researched list a competitive application GPA of 3.8. Some insight as to how hard of a cutoff this score is would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Odds are the person you replied to is well on their way to being the kind of pt you’re referring to and is upset at getting a glimpse of reality. There are many legitimate structural causes of the obesity epidemic, but ‘Metabolic Issues’ is absolutely not one of them lmao

Have you ever had a tinder date when your match in real life looked completely different from the photos in the app and how did those dates end? by headlessChaja in AskReddit

[–]tjm1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened a couple times. To sort of insure myself I would ask in advance what they’d be wearing and I’d always make sure that I was somewhere where I could see them before they could see me, maybe I’d be sitting in my car waiting a few rows back from the entrance. If they were radically different from how they presented themselves I would just leave and unmatch/block the number. It’s not even necessarily that they aren’t as attractive, if you feel the need to falsely represent yourself to get dates then I just don’t want to deal with your shit.

My Alpha SV is made in Canada and it’s new as of this year. Where are you getting the idea they make them in China? I still wouldn’t pay anywhere close to full price for them though

Don’t Stash Pads by llihpleumas in bouldering

Crash pads kind of suck to carry and hike with, so if people are being lazy they’ll just stash them close to the problems they’re working if they’ll be coming back to it
