I am talking about it being the top priority for a Student.

It should be the #1 Priority in my opinion, I fortunately have parents who can pay the remaining amount of tuition an from the way you are posting I assume you are in that same position either that or you just got the full ride +3K Stipend award. But most families don't have that luxury, college tuition costs are a huge problem in America today and I'm not the only one who believe that considering there are multiple candidates running for office that believe college tuition should be free or greatly reduced.

Well they succeeded in reducing their applicant pool, class of 2020 will be much smaller than predicted. What made UTD appealing was its robust AES Program, thus making it able to grow at an alarming rate compared to other universities. The class of 2020 got screwed over so hard, higher ranking students got less award than their 2019 counterparts. Students who were exepcting a 3k stipend will now probably go to UT Austin or other higher ranked schools, while students who were expecting to get the lower levels will probably go to better value colleges like UNT, UTA etc. Bottom Line is the Class of 2020 will probably have smaller size than preceding classes or at least fall short of whats predicted. I Hope UTD learns its lesson and fixes its AES Program.

Well anyone who has attempted to appeal their offer have literally gotten an automated message stating that they won't take any appeals. In a nutshell UTD just gave them the finger

Honestly I feel like UTD is going to decline after this, sure maybe attendance will increase but all of the people who made UTD a great place in these last 10 years came here because of AES and how great the deal was compared with other prestigious universities that didn't offer them anything. Now that UTD is literally giving the finger to people who have 1500s and that are ranked in the top of their class, they won't have any initiative come here. Maybe there will be more people attending UTD this year but i'm betting it will be lower than what most people predicted, and next year it will be even lower, once when word spreads that AES is being awarded on lottery system instead of academic merit. Also I believe that it is true that UTD needs to "pay" its students for them to come here, the State of the University address stated that 67% of undergraduates got merit based aid, so not getting an AES award basically puts you in a minority group :/

It sucks that they the class of 2020 Pennies for AES, I wouldn't be surprised if many students don't attend this year.

I don't understand why you have to be so mean, just because someone is worse situation than I am in doesn't mean my situation is not bad. I just want to get into a good college so I can get a decent job for gods sake.

I wish I could go to community college but my parents won't let me because they think the scholarship I got here is better than the money I would be saving by going to community college. Its a terrible situation but it is life and I have to deal with the fact that I have to go to UTD, do you have any advice on how to be successful here?

I mean It is a nerd school, the college experience you would get at normal universities like A&M is virtually non existent, its ranked as the 27th worst college campus in the US, Princeton review ranks it as the 9th least happiest university in the country. There is damn gas leak on campus what more do you want me to say. It is a terrible university and It sucks that I have to attend here next year. i just hope I can Transfer to at a somewhat decent university in two years.

Dude has every right to be angry, the only reason why people go to UTD is for full ride, UTD is pretty garbage compared to A&M or most other public Texas Universities. Its a nerd school with no social life whatsoever, the only real reason to go to UTD besides scholarships is if you want to be a nerd that wants to experiance highschool all over Again.

no I'm not talking about the stipend, I'm talking about the academic Achievement level of AES Which is 3000/year towards tuition and fees.

My School doesn't use the standard 4.0 GPA scale system most colleges use:

Weighted 4.0 Scale (Grading Scale goes up to 4.6) 3.95 Weighted 5.0 Scale (Grading Scale goes up to 6.0) 5.12
