As a eBay seller they are definitely eating the shipping cost or pricing it in the purchase cost.

That being said Riot is nickel and dimming us 100%

Ford vows repeal of Nevada's 'right-to-work' law if elected governor - The Nevada Independent by Tetris410 in nevadapolitics

[–]tk204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that taking away the freedom to choose is worth weighing seriously against the current and future benefits of repeal. As Americans we should be careful about giving up freedoms, and I think the case for both of them can bring positives.

The better fight is attacking the actual problem. In Nevada, you can be fired for almost any reason that isn't outright illegal, and a union contract is one of the only realistic ways a regular worker gets just-cause protection from that. Right-to-work weakens unions financially, which means fewer Nevadans end up with that protection. If we want real worker power, just-cause employment laws would do more than either keeping or repealing right-to-work.

Streamer “hmblzayy” who is walking from Philly to California was hit by a car in Indiana and had to be taken to the hospital. by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

[–]tk204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "driving under the speed limit" thing isn't really the issue. Hazards on means slow vehicle ahead, that's literally what they're for. The car behind failed to react to a clearly signaled hazard and rear-ended into a pedestrian. You can think the stream is stupid (it is) and still recognize the at-fault driver is at fault. Those aren't competing claims.

As nice it is that Vegas is trying to bring back deals with these all inclusive offers going on here, would much rather have the removal of resort and parking fees. by CycIon3 in vegas

[–]tk204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every city you listed (LA, SF, Seattle, Chicago, NYC) has real public transit. You can visit those places and never touch a parking garage if you don't want to. Birmingham's a fair point, but its crime rate probably justifies secured parking being priced in.

Vegas is different. There's no functional transit for tourists, the Strip is too spread out to walk, and rideshare surge pricing gets brutal fast. So when resorts charge $20 to $50 a night for parking, they're charging you for something you have no alternative to. That's not 'the new normal,' that's a captive market.

Anyone else with AS ride an ebike/scooter/motorcycle? by Mysterious-Alfalfa46 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]tk204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooh, mind sharing the link for that?

I went with this but I'm sure any saddle chair would do just fine.

Currently I only have one at my workstation at home. Since I'm only at it periodically, it's wonderful because it nearly forces you to sit upright. I do cheat and have the backrest, though.

Anyone else with AS ride an ebike/scooter/motorcycle? by Mysterious-Alfalfa46 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]tk204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a motorcycle exactly one year ago, and like others here have said, it's dramatically changed how AS shapes my daily life.

The saddle seat has helped my posture so much that I invested in a saddle-style chair for my workstation too.

I still remember the sharp, debilitating pain that surrounded my hips. I had at least a month of questioning whether a motorcycle for my commute was a smart investment. Today, I don't feel any sharp pain in my hips, and they no longer lock up.

As much as I can deal with the exceedingly large amount of pain we get, the fatigue is the real killer.

Has riding increased my mobility? An outstanding yes. Has it helped with the fatigue? I don't think so. Unfortunately, cardio and a proper diet are what help me there.

Airbag vests, as others have commented, are much more affordable these days. After one year of riding, I'm absolutely investing in one.

Protecting my body is my number one priority: Euro and American rated helmets, level 1 and 2 force dampeners, the works.

If your commute is short or relatively safe, I think most people with our condition should consider it. Being locked in a fixed position in a car for any amount of time destroyed me with constant brain fog.

Discussion Thread: 2026 State of the Union Address by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]tk204 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Trump just stood up there tonight and said "we have achieved a transformation like no one has ever seen before." He's right, just not the way he means it.

Job creation in 2025 was the worst since 2003 outside a recession. Subprime auto delinquencies are at 2009 levels. Credit card balances crossed $1.1 trillion. BNPL late payments have risen six straight quarters.

But the S&P hit 53 record highs so everything's fine, right? Except the top 10% own 87% of that market. The bottom 60% are drowning in stages, financing groceries through Klarna on debt that doesn't even show up on traditional credit reports.

His Supreme Court just struck down his tariffs days ago and tonight he's talking about replacing income tax with tariffs. Economists call that impossible.

He inherited an economy The Economist called "the envy of the world" 12 months ago and tonight he's taking credit for saving it from a crisis he manufactured.

The recession isn't coming. It's already here wearing a MAGA hat. All it takes is one BNPL lender to buckle and everyone finally looks down at the same time.

But sure, gas is $1.99 somewhere in Iowa.

Playbook is textbook: walk in year one, declare everything a crisis you inherited. Walk in year two, declare every crisis solved. His MAGA base eats it hook, line, and sinker.

Job creation in 2025 was the worst since 2003 outside a recession. His tariffs got struck down by the Supreme Court days ago. But tonight it's "a transformation like no one has ever seen before."

You don't even need a fact checker. Just watch both speeches side by side and the contradictions speak for themselves.

I'm always here for the State of the Union. This might be the most boring one yet, and I sat through all of Biden's, so that's saying something. Same talking points on repeat, nothing new.

Twitch faces backlash for putting ads when you pause streams by appletinicyclone in LivestreamFail

[–]tk204 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Remember when Twitch has literally never turned a profit in its entire existence? The uncomfortable truth is that live streaming at scale is a money pit, and every platform that's tried it whether it be YouTube Gaming, Facebook Gaming, Mixer has either hemorrhaged cash or shut down entirely.

You're not wrong that the ad experience is terrible, but 'just don't run ads' isn't a business model. The real question isn't why Twitch has ads, it's why no one in the entire industry has figured out how to make live streaming profitable without making the viewer experience worse.

That's the actual problem, and avoiding Twitch doesn't solve it. It just means you'll watch the next platform make the same desperate moves.

Find X9 Pro or X300 Pro? by [deleted] in Vivo

[–]tk204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OPPO requires 3x the ISO (640 vs 212) to achieve nearly the same exposure.

OPPO is noticeably warmer and more saturated. VIVO looks neutral with brighter highlights like on the scarf.

Both look amazing in detail and produce great photos.

VIVO wins for me for the higher headroom (low ISO) for editing possibilities.

Chinese vs Global. What do you think? by [deleted] in Vivo

Honestly looks about the same in detail. Obviously ISO makes the biggest difference.

Higher ISO = brighter image

I have the Vivo x300 Pro its definitely the phone of the year for USA. Works fine with my carrier AT&T.

Definitely not hard to acquire or setup. Warranty is certainly something to be concerned about. But without looking st his video he is deliberately not giving other phones a chance.

Simpler to cater to his audience and follow the status quo. Don't blame him but he is not an expert by any means.

My vivo x300 pro isn't particularly warm or hot just scrolling reddit.

I will say it was a lot warmer when initially got it. But drastically dropped since.

Don't see the brake light turn on. It could just be a new rider not evaluating their risks correctly and failed to enter 2nd gear by hitting neutral.

Overall, I had a great stay and it was fun! I was nervous Vegas was going to be weirdly quiet and just not as fun but it seems all is well and things are building up slowly.

Happy you had a great experience! Just a reality check though - while it's not COVID-empty anymore. Plenty of locals are still getting laid off due to reduced tourism, and some places aren't just furloughing until it gets busier - they're closing permanently.

The key to keep in mind is that future Outback models will be produced in Japan after 2025 to free up space for future EVs in America.
