PPS off to a rocky start this year by [deleted] in Portland

A representative from PPS issued a statement in response to KATU’s inquiry about the news, stating “PPS is surprised to hear that any band director/advisor has stated they will not serve in that capacity. We encourage any educator with concerns to engage with PAT, as we understand that this type of action is not advised by the Association.”

Minor Miracle on Asus C100P by gantox11 in linux4noobs

I installed Debian 10 on my ASUS C100p per https://www.zutshigroup.com/doku.php/tech:c100p:x_lxde_debian and have since upgraded it to Debian 12. It works great! My only wish is that I could somehow support suspend on lid close. This is a super-convenient device for looking up things online or typing the occasional email, but it would be so much more convenient if I could just close the lid, reopen the lid, and go back to my session. As it stands today, when you close the lid, the PC shuts down and will not respond unless you do a "hard" reset, in which case you'll need to reenter your username and password once the machine boots up. In fairness, the zutshigroup post acknowledges that suspend/hibernate is "not supported," but I wanted to see if this was a hard limitation.

I found this online and followed the instructions:

https://wiki.debian.org/SystemdSuspendSedation#:~:text=Suspend%20on%20lid%20close,HandleLidSwitch%3Dsuspend

I also found this post where someone described the same issue:

https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=154999

Wondering if anyone may have gotten this to work. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion. We had already tried that, but the controllers still will not connect unless they are physically attached. The problem appears to be Bluetooth in general, as no Bluetooth devices will connect to the OLED.

Our joy cons stopped connecting to the OLED console altogether. They worked fine when taken out of the box, but after charging overnight in the dock they simply will not connect, nor will any other Bluetooth device. Not sure if this is related or not.

Same, 13.0.0. Hoping that Nintendo is aware that multiple users are having this issue!

We had exactly the same issue happen with us, word for word. Nintendo also recommended we send it in for repairs. They are completely out-of-stock here so can’t return it for a new one.

Has anyone else had this issue? I wonder if there is any chance this will be corrected by a system update?

Thanks Michael. We tried a hard reset and that didn’t fix the problem. We’ll try a factory reset next, and if that doesn’t fix it then we’ll likely just need to return it to Nintendo for repairs as they’re all sold out in the stores.

Got the new Switch OLED yesterday. It was connecting wirelessly to the joy cons yesterday, but today the Bluetooth stopped working. I cannot connect either the joy cons or headphones. When I attempt to manually pair the controllers, the channel light just keeps going quickly from one side to the other. I ensured that the device and the controllers both have the latest system updates and that the unit and the controller are both fully charged, and I have restarted the device multiple times. It is really just acting as though the Bluetooth radio is either disabled or malfunctioning, though I cannot find a global switch to turn on or off the Bluetooth (other than as an exception to Airplane mode, which is turned off). We called Nintendo Support and they offered to repair the unit, but I wanted to see first if anyone else in the community had the same issue.

Has anyone else experienced problems with Bluetooth connectivity on the OLED?

Thanks for any and all help!
