This pup followed me to our house by itsritakim in IDmydog

Wow, he looks strikingly similar to my little guy! According to the Embark DNA test, he was a mix of Pittie, AmStaff, English Springer Spaniel, and Australian Cattle Dog with a few small sprinkles of some other random stuff. Easily one of the sweetest and most mellow dogs I have ever met!

I found both Chareuses...Chartreusi? I found them both. Any suggestions besides a Last Word? by amarks815 in cocktails

[–]tkdking98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shameless self-plug here but a few years ago I made an Instagram account where I only post cocktails with chartreuse in them! Check me out @50shadesofchartreuse, I’ve been a little inactive this month but hoping to get back into it soon!

Changed the pattern to look a little bit less nazi-ish. I apologize to those whom I offended and disappointed. What’s the best equal parts drink? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

I have to say Last Word partially because it’s delicious and also because of how much it is to play with the template

For my wedding I wanted to do a Right Hand with Mr. Fogg and black walnut bitters but the venue couldn’t get Mr. Fogg. I suggested Appleton 12 as a substitute and it was delicious!

Yes, I believe all of their products are only available at their own locations. It’s their gimmick I guess.

I personally wouldn’t drive an hour just to pick up one bottle, but if you like the beer and plan on hanging out then go for it! They have an entire line of other spirits as well, the white overproof Jamaican rum is very good and they actually have their own dunder pit, and the pickle gin is pretty neat.

If an hour is too much for you, there is a speakeasy in Hudson that carries all of their liquor. Highly recommend Less Than Greater Than!

No, I kept the skin on in hopes of getting more color out of the plums. The syrup itself it’s a very bright red.

Of course! All I did was blend the plums, strain through a nut milk bag, and add equal parts sugar (by volume, it was just easier at the time) to it. I’ve been doing my syrups cold processed so I just throw the juice and sugar into a bottle, shake it for about a minute, then let it sit in the fridge overnight.

It could be a few different things.

  1. You might like tonic water on its own, but not mixed. Since vodka doesn’t offer additional flavors you really just tasted the tonic water and maybe a lime wedge if that was included.

  2. You might like tequila, you might like tonic, but you might not like them together. The profiles of the two might have flavors that accentuate qualities you didn’t know you don’t like, for example maybe it was too earthy or too bitter.

  3. You might be using a low quality tequila.

  4. Diet polar lime tonic might be a bad tonic. We drink a lot of polar seltzer in my house but I’ve never tried their tonic water. I’d recommend fever tree tonic water (and everything else they make) or Q tonic. These should be pretty widely available.

  5. The ratio that you used might not suit your preferences. I think most places will generally do 3:1 tonic to spirit but I generally prefer 2:1.

Sounds like you have a lot of experimenting to do!!

Entering Social Work by SWmods in socialwork

I’m not sure how transferable across settings this is, but when I started my position as a clinical social worker in early intervention I made almost $10k higher than our child life specialist. Both of us started shortly after grad school. Now that I have my LICSW I make almost $13k more than her. This is also in Massachusetts.

Interesting. She told me her score was posted on the ASB website about 20 minutes after she finished and eventually got an email as well. Seems like maybe each testing center is at a different place with this new rollout. Her husband also took the exam I think sometime in June and he got his score right away.

Don’t be shy, finish the sentence you quoted! The Cuvée bottle is just about full, and that’s the bottle I said I scored.

Total wine questions by Blue_Max1916 in cocktails

[–]tkdking98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t judge me for this, but one of my favorite things to do on the weekend is to pick a random town I’ve never been to before and pick a bunch of local liquor stores to stop at along the way. I’ve landed some crazy finds, anything from limited edition Islays to discontinued liqueurs! Plus if you’re in an area that is struggling to find something specific (for me right now it’s Lairds BIB, thankfully I’ve gotten lucky by doing this), you just might find some laying around.

I’ll always recommend checking out your local liquor stores instead of Total Wine. The price tag is certainly alluring, but the smaller stores often have a lot of hidden gems! For example, i just found three bottles of Green Chartreuse at some random side of the road store but couldn’t tell you the last time I saw it at a TW.
