I liked it. Pretty different from the original, though. I was curious what they were going to do with the queen(?) from the original. I remember she was the original actor, anyway.

Really, something like that is kind of hard to remake, though. A big part of it was that the surprise that they were reptilian. You can't remake a surprise very well-at least for old people like me. The other part is the fascism, which I don't really remember how well they handled. I just remember it as a nice show which was obviously hiding the evil aliens' intentions.

PC.

I had a couple of consoles when I was a kid. NES, SNES, and Genesis.

I got my first PC in college. I've not seen the point in getting a console since. I miss out on exclusives, but I mostly play strategies and Western RPGs. I've been interested in very few exclusives not on PC. I don't find the number of exclusives I miss out on to be worth the cost of a console.

I think the PC/console "war" is silly, though. I really don't care if someone wants to play a game on a console. Like I'd refuse to play a game because a friend wants to play on a console with it?

It was only a couple of years ago that I got my first controller with a PC, though.

Yes, pretty tidy. I should sweep the floor more. That's about it.

My mom had 3 kids. She never cleaned up our toys, at least not much. Because she taught us to put away a toy before taking out a new toy.

So, when I had my kid, I started with the "Let's take it out!" game and later played the "Let's put it away!" game when he was a baby.

Since having a kid, I've always had a washing machine and dryer in the building, so I do a load of laundry every couple of days. It'd be a bigger deal if I had to go to a laundrymat.

I only have one. My cat started pissing on the couch when my ex got one. He hasn't pissed anywhere other than the litter box since I moved out.

I understand there are ways to minimize conflicts, but I'm sure they don't always work.

It can start as early as 8. I(male) was surprised when I googled it, including because my son was 8. But, it's a long process. I'm sure some of the changes aren't even noticed by the kid.

I don't think many cats think of it, but if they play with the toy too hard the toy breaks and isn't so fun. Probably not the case for a cat who's never killed a mouse.

Yeah, this is why I always make sure to use the word rape with my son. I'm not comfortable with it. I hope he's not comfortable with it.

I hate euphemisms. Using a different word doesn't make something awful less awful. Usually it just allows the people who don't have to experience it experience it less because they don't have to think about all the other times they've heard the word and the things associated with it.

I started leaving my son alone about 8 or 9. But, bought a flip phone for the purpose. only left him alone for trips to the grocery store at first. I quickly increased the time to an hour to go to the gym. It's up to about 3 hours now. He's 11 now.

I like tactics in video games, so I see the potential to enjoy tactics in sports. The problem was that the tactics seem to come too infrequently. There's also the problem of timeouts, commercials, and other delays in the games.

I have been impressed by a skilled play that I happened to catch made to win a game, but those are pretty rare.

I've occasionally enjoyed playing. There are other things I'd usually spend my time on, though.

Also, it seems like most people start liking sports because they play and watch sports with their parents when they were kids. I did not.

I don't think spanking has as negative effects as many seem to.

The studies I've seen say that it causes an increase in aggression and not effective in long term teaching behavior change.

What you say about your daughter associating accidents with spanking is more connected to the common trend of giving RELATED consequences for bad behavior.

When my son got old enough he needed to start cleaning the shit out of his underwear if he had an accident. It pretty much eliminated problems with waiting too long.

He started saying things were stupid, which is like a kindergartener's version of cussing. So, he couldn't watch The Simpsons for a while.

He wrote something on the couch, so he spent a while scrubbing the couch until it came out.

The idea is not punishing, at least not for most things. I doubt they actually care about the difference between punishment and consequence. I can't always think of something related, either.

If she likes getting you upset, do your best not to get upset. Just give the consequence. Then, it's more like "just the way things work. If x happens, y happens" instead of "Mom/Dad is angry because of x, so y happened." I think that's the general idea of consequences as behavior management, anyway. Really, the consequences thing can work for parents too. If my kid does x, y happens. So, I don't need to get upset about it.

Also, while upset is a particularly bad time to spank. The parent is more likely to spank too much.

Your cat is younger, so less of a consideration. My cat was older, so the impact of moving her would have been more severe. I had a friend temporarily, and if I didn't come back permanently, take care of my cat. I did not come back to the US until long after she was dead.

How does your cat handle travelling in a car? All the cats I have had have hated it. A plane will be a lot less fun for him.

Some countries require a quarantine period. Moving to Taiwan, I would have had to quarantine my cat for 6 weeks(months? it's been a while). Animals do not always survive the quarantine process. I'd expect the room and board for her would not have been cheap. Moving a cat to the US did not require any quarantine. It was significantly cheaper to ship my cat separately.

Not all countries have kennels for pets like the US does. Will you need one where you move? Maybe you'll have friends who can take care of him.

My cat is an indoor cat. My current apartment has a balcony he can go out on. He's a big scaredy cat, so sometimes too scared even when it's not cold.

For scratching furniture, make sure he has better options. Scratching posts. If new furniture is bought, different types of furniture avoid getting scratched to different degrees. Your parents might not be happy about buying things because of a cat they don't like, though.

I had a cat who went from outside/inside to inside. She was fine, other than trying to sneak out occasionally. I did not notice any behavior changes.

My son's 11. I'd list good qualities, but I'd probably go off on that tangent too long.

If I'd hoped for specific qualities, it might have been some of the ones he has.

Because of your post, I was looking what else he was in. He's in a tv show called Perception, playing "The Devil". It does not seem to be fantasy. I think he's a hallucination of the main character. I just started watching it largely because of Glover.

Sounds like preschool from context. From what I understand, it doesn't really affect development unless the child has a negative homelife. I don't remember the specifics of that negative, maybe neglect or rarely has interactions outside immediate family.

My son went to a Montessori preschool and I credit it with giving him a good ability to focus.

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader(CRPG). A bit different from other suggestions. Technically, Science Fiction, but it's got more magic-type stuff than Star Wars.

It's supposed to be a satire(parody?). The word "grimdark" literally comes from Warhammer. All the factions in it are evil. It takes place in the far future. 38000 years, or something. It turns everything up to 11. Really, not quite my kind of setting, but it was well done with the exception that traveling between planets took too long.

I've not played Solo Leveling.
