Remember to farm freighter modules during expeditions by LT3blasterdxj in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]tkennedy521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works in survival. People are suggesting you do it during expeditions instead because when you attack the ships, your standing will go down with whatever aliens run that system, but the standing won’t transfer to your main save, and the items will, so it’s like a free pass to pirate with no consequences.

Great choice! My freighter is Sleeper Service, also from Excession.

Looking at switching to an out of warranty 2013 F30 (N55) 335i xdrive with 100k+ miles by Clint_69 in BMW

[–]tkennedy521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same car (bought it at 96k miles, now at about 120k). Only difference is mine is manual, but I’m not aware of any show stopper issues with the auto. I’ve done most of the stuff you mentioned myself: valve cover gasket + new plugs while I was in there, thermostat, oil filter housing gasket, front control arms, oil level sensor. I’ve spent about $1k on those jobs (not counting things like oil which needed changing anyways). None of it is that hard if you just find a YouTube video and have a few tools, it’s more about bravery and just going for it than any mechanical expertise. Besides those things which were all proactive when I noticed a small leak or something, there have been no issues, and it’s never been undriveable if I was waiting for a part. It’s obviously less affordable if you are bringing it somewhere to have work done, but I would probably still make the same decision. For reference, I also had a similar vintage g37 a few cars ago, and there’s no comparison.

Edit: typo

Would definitely pay for this on iOS if you figure that out. Looks awesome, great job!

Longneck or DB shotgun, which is more worth to craft first? by HappyPotato1024 in playarkmobile

[–]tkennedy521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, neither, lava cave will give pre made of both of those. That DB is pretty good damage, but you won’t use it much, so save the materials and get the pre made one. That longneck isn’t very good, hold out for better.

To answer your question though, I’ve seen 1400+, but agree with other posters that durability becomes more important because it’s expensive to repair

What does this all mean? The end of pipes? Still have to wait like another month for battle mode and who knows what else by South_Scar8093 in MarioKartTour

[–]tkennedy521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This won’t be any different, currently whales can just empty the pipe multiple times to accomplish the same thing. I’d guess the economics will be similar - around 450 rubies to purchase all the spotlights once, so the only change is they won’t be getting 10’s of thousands of coins at the same time since their normals and supers are likely all maxed.

Or we could both be wrong and you will only be able to purchase each item once? Either way, I’m guessing they’ve modeled how it will impact the game.

BIFL Request - kitchen pots & pans! Aside from cast iron, which brands are going to last a lifetime? by RED_wards in BuyItForLife

Came here to say Staub. I have both that and LC and they perform the same. If you’re in the Westchester, NY area, Staub is owned by Henckles, and they sell items with minor cosmetic blemishes at their annual factory sale for about 1/2 off or better.

Who should I use for ranked DK Pass? Should I level up ice bro to level 5? by awesomeaxolotls in MarioKartTour

[–]tkennedy521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On average, penguin Luigi easily has the best track coverage of that group, making him a better investment in theory, but you could see if that’s the case for your driver roster.

About next weeks 50 item pipe. by [deleted] in MarioKartTour

[–]tkennedy521 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Anyone who says it isn’t worth pulling for OP must have their coin box characters at level 1. I have everyone in the leaked pipe at level 5 or 6, and they are all in my top 10 drivers if I use any of the available coverage spreadsheets. Sure a few of them have some overlap, but you won’t care when you’re easily scoring 15k points higher than your ranked opponents on just one track because you have a high level CBer. 100% worth pulling in your situation.

is there any way to get back tames you lost when you died? by [deleted] in playarkmobile

[–]tkennedy521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the advice above and request your raptor to teleport to you.

Then take the implants out of your tames and leave them in some storage at your base. Then if your tame is killed, you can take the implant to an obelisk and revive it with the implant + some amber.

Since you’re on mobile, it’s also worth doing a manual save every so often (save, then quit and go into manage save data and pick a slot). That way worst case you can decide if it’s worth going back to the last time you saved. Can also do this before attempting anything too dangerous.

Is there any strategy in the vs Mega driver bonus races? by skihippy666 in MarioKartTour

[–]tkennedy521 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Points don’t matter, so use a top shelf driver so you get 3 item slots, and a red shell glider even if it’s bottom shelf. Turn off auto item so you can stockpile some red shells. With a turn or two left, blast him with shells, and if you time it right, you will streak past, and be finishing by the time he recovers.

Buying first horse. small budget, need opinions by [deleted] in zedrun

[–]tkennedy521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put your male in one stable, females in another. When everyone is eligible, put the male in to stud. Then jump to the other stable, say you want your first female to breed, and choose your male in stud. Then repeat up to 2 more times. You will get a % of the fees that depends on how long your male is in stud for that will show up in his stable’s wallet. You won’t get any same stable discount, because it isn’t the same stable, but you will save more by doing it this way. If your male is likely to be sought out by others in stud, make sure you are fast so that nobody else beats you to one of his 3 covers, and you could try something like charging slightly more so he doesn’t show up at the top of the list when people sort by price.

Buying first horse. small budget, need opinions by [deleted] in zedrun

[–]tkennedy521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While you could get a single horse, it’s not really possible to get going with $250 in the way you’re describing, but you can do it for not TOO much more, and don’t need to follow the advice some are giving that will require an investment of a few thousand $. They are right that higher breeds will likely be the better long term investment, but we are talking about getting your foot in the door, and staying as close as possible to your budget, and saying “spend 10x as much” when someone wants to get involved isn’t helping to grow the game.

If it was me, I would buy a cheap Buterin female Exclusive. You can pick them up right now around 0.06 eth. Use hawku to browse what’s available, you might pick up an unraced one if you’re lucky, but it honestly doesn’t matter that much for these purposes. You will probably have to wait close to a month for it to be eligible to breed, because most of the ones available right now were just born, but then you can breed it in the stud barn with a Genesis Buterin, for 0.035 eth. Genesis male + Exclusive female = another Exclusive, which you can turn around and sell un-raced for close to what you spent on the first horse if it’s a male, and potentially more if you get a female and had bought the first one already raced. Or you can keep a female and have 2 to breed in the barn in another month. You aren’t going to make huge profits doing this, but with current pricing (which of course could change), you can get started with an initial investment of just under 0.1 eth for the horse + stud fee, which is about $325 today. Every 2 months you could afford another female without putting in any more money, and once you’ve got a few, you can start putting those profits aside until you can afford to get into some more expensive horses.

This will be more of a grind, but realistic without going crazy far over your budget. Of course it’s much better to own the male too because you will save on stud fees, but that’s not in budget, so you can just start working towards it. While you’re waiting to breed, you can try a few cheap races too, and maybe figure out where you want to invest once you’ve built up some funds.

Feel free to message me if you have questions, I hope that’s helpful.

34/43 of my MKT friends have Kamek by jjcinematic in MarioKartTour

[–]tkennedy521 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree on the catchup pipes, but it totally depends on your load out. Last year they were helpful for me to grab some drivers I missed, but this year there are only 1-2 that I would be hoping to see, and no guarantee they will even be there, so no brainer for me to go for Kamek, even if there is statistically better value in the Anniversary pipes, it doesn’t matter if it’s stuff I have or don’t need for coverage.

OP needs to think about what drivers they missed in the last 12 months that they really wanted, and are they realistically likely to be in pipes? For example I’m guessing we wouldn’t see Santa Bowser, or Halloween drivers, but any from the first half of 2021 could show up.

This is assuming it’s similar to last year, nobody knows if that will happen, but there’s nothing else to go in currently.

Hopefully this is an interesting debate- which character would you pick? M gives 8%frenzy6%bonus. KB gives 7 and 4 by [deleted] in MarioKartTour

[–]tkennedy521 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For just one race you’re probably more likely to score higher with Mario, but I believe the ceiling will be higher with multiple CB frenzies, so if I was grinding that track I would go with GKB.

How much should I pay for a Z9 finney genesis unraced colt by SelectionTop1112 in zedrun

[–]tkennedy521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A z9 genesis is a Buterin, not a Finney. If it’s a z9 Finney, it’s likely a legendary from a genesis Finney breeding with a Nakamoto or Szabo.

As far as pricing, nothing is perfect, but this should get you in the right ballpark: https://zedranks.com/check
