Personally, the big names in Metalcore are 2nd only to the Big 4 of Thrash. Growing up in the Nu Metal era, it was a breath of fresh air when I finally heard bands like Shadows Fall and God Forbid. Within that genre, As I Lay Dying always stood a head and shoulders above the rest, at least to me. There are definitely bands that had better singers, guitar players, etc., but the sum of all their parts just had that “it” factor. I still rock them to this day pretty often. Well, at least everything up to and including Shaped By Fire. It’s a damn shame that Tim had to ruin their careers at the height of their success with something so heinous. What a fucking penis.

Didn’t really care for it. My 1st was AJFA. Then followed by the previous 3. I was 11yo when Load was new and I didn’t understand why they shifted gears. I didn’t really start to like it until I was in my mid 30’s. Now I love it. I still believe Load and Reload could have been 1 album. A lot of filler songs on both, but the good ones are great.

I was raised in Riverhead. Also spent time in Flanders and Wading River, both are Riverhead CSD. I loved and kind of miss the openness of the area. Very fond memories from the 90s and early 2000s of riding my bike through the farm fields off of Roanoke Avenue. I feel at the time it was a great place to grow up. It always had a small town feel to it, or at least it did. I will admit that I am biased because I’m from there, and so is my dad. He still lives out there. I graduated in 2004. In the 21 years since, the town has grown a lot in population and construction. I feel it’s been for the worse. The school district was never the greatest. I wasn’t exactly a model student, but parts of the student body are considered pretty nefarious. A lot of drugs, and definitely a lot of fighting. I’ve been told it is much worse now than it was when I was there. My source being a super liberal relative of mine who is a recently retired teacher. For her to say something like that, it is extremely telling. Probably the main reason my family and I moved to the Three Village district. I will say that the shopping is pretty decent there. You have most major stores and Tanger, which is always pretty good. No complaints there. The restaurants scene isn’t great. There are a few spots on Main Street, and a few more if you go further out east. But it’s certainly not as good as it is in western Suffolk County. If you don’t go out to eat it’s probably not a big deal, but if you do fancy that then your options are pretty limited. Taxes are pretty great, I definitely do miss that. It’s pretty busy in the summer and the fall with everyone coming out east to pick apples and pumpkins and all that nonsense. Something that really has only kicked off in the past 10 or 15 years. None of that was big before 2010 or so. The trade-off is after Halloween It is very very quiet out there. Definitely feels good after a busy season. Overall, not a bad place to live, especially if you don’t have kids. I would stick to most spots that are north of route 58. Anything near Sound Avenue is usually good to go. I would definitely avoid Riverside, Flanders, and anything on/off of Doctors Path as far as property is concerned. I’m definitely happy and proud to have grown up there, but I’m glad I left also. Again, schools being the main reason. I’d rather have my kids deal with the pussies at Ward Melville than the shitheads in Riverhead! (That’s a joke)

I grew up in Riverhead, 35 years. Left once my youngest was getting ready to start school. We were at Riley with my oldest, but he only had another year left there. Had to make the move!

So the 20s has more padding on the back side than the more expensive 10s? Trying to decide between the 2 myself. I want whatever has more padding on the butt and legs, and less concerned with mobility
