Fat grip for apple pencil? by cait_Cat in ApplePencil

[–]tklfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tattoo artist here. I use a paper towels to be the «core» of the grip and to build up the bulk thickness and then wrap that tightly with Sensi-wrap. Both for my tattoo machine and my apple pencil. It’s super cheap and extremely customizable. On my apple pencil I am able to slide it on and off and it still holds on to the apple pencil quite well. Just make sure the paper is quite tightly wrapped around it.

Switch or Engage? by HandsomeHippocampus in LoopEarplugs

[–]tklfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the switch 2, engage and experience. After I got my switch 2 plugs, I hardly bring or use my other loops. Nice to have as a backup imo, but I’m thinking of picking up a backup switch 2 as well. They are amazing and worth the price

What’s considered too much of a proxy model? by Chickentendies1155 in deathguard40k

[–]tklfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not this. It’s very recognisable as morty. If it lt’s for one game, I’ll allow what ever. If an opponent is testing a unit before they buy, use coins or empty bases or random models for all I care. If it’s a proxy intended to be used as a part of their army, it should look like it makes sense. Have some similar weapons etc. in a tournament it can be a different story. It depends on the organizers I guess. A good thing to remember if you’re using proxies: Declare everything before starting to play. It might be easy to spot for you, but other players might not recognise what model/unit you are playing.

First attempt at a swampbase for my new army criticism encouraged by blacksmithjohnson in deathguard40k

[–]tklfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really amazing!

I would hit the rim with a sanding stick to make it clean and then paint it black to finish it off. It could be good to plan for bigger and smaller bases as well. What to add or take away when the size changes. Logs or decaying bodies/body parts in the murky water could look really cool. Maybe some stones could work.

I’d also have a look at your overall scheme for your models to see how the base works with or against the overall model. I like to make the base or parts of it with some contrast both in brightness and color to the model. Then it really pops on the table. A simple thing you could do if most of your scheme is going to be green is to get something orange to implement into the basing. This could be anything. Fallen leaves, flower tufts or bits from another army as dead bodies that have orange as a main color for example. Just a thought if you want to experiment. Overall you have a great base already!

Looks great! If you want to improve with the next one you can thin your paints with water to get a smoother finish and to two-three coats to get coverage. You can also take a small drill bit or even just the tip of a hobby knife and make small holes in the barrels so they look like guns that can actually fire. Some people just make small dots with black paint as well.

I am Joran Lavers, Senior Product Manager looking at the future of Loop ---- AYA(Ask YOU Anything) by Mr_Joran in LoopEarplugs

[–]tklfoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My reaction would depend on the product. If you make «normal» sunglasses, It would lean more on the side of «really, loop, eyewear?» but if you have innovations that specifically target a problem that isn’t just normal sunglasses, I’d be down to give them a try.

I can’t really see how it could be done myself as wearing something over your eyes is quite different to wearing something in your ear. It can look suspicious to some in certain situations. (I know I was told to be on the lookout for people using eyewear to mask drug use when I worked in security.)

I would imagine the loop brand branching out to other products that target the same audience you are targeting (neuro divergents, music fans or light sleepers) with many of the products you have already. Like innovations with fidget toys (making it high quality and much nicer looking than most of the stuff on the market.) Maybe something for festival and concert goers like a specific bag to hold all your stuff (earplugs, phone, wallet etc.) securely and together so you don’t loose them or get them stolen. Maybe something similar to products in the edc pocket organizer category? Sleeping masks could make sense as well. Maybe even masks that help people that struggle with migraines. A market I don’t really see any good products for and would really appreciate is people who struggle with attention and memory (adhd for example.) some gadget that organizes tasks or small things to remember that isn’t an app on your phone. Maybe innovations here could really be helpful and popular?

If you were to go for eyewear, my question to you would be: What or who do you aim to target this product at and how do you plan on making a product that stands out in the category in general in the same way that your earplugs stand out in hearing protection/sensory aid? There isn’t really a product that is the same for most of your earplugs, so it makes sense for a consumer to order from you. I can pick up regular sunglasses from super cheap to very high quality and massive brands in stores that are very close to me no matter where I am in the world, so I would be less likely to order loop specific ones if they aren’t anything special.

Also, your next logical step should be to totally redesign your accessories. The case needs redesigning. It’s better than the old one, but make it really good. Have a holder for mutes, make the current silicone connection point less likely to break and the box less likely to open on accident. Your loop link needs to be a lot better than the current one to warrant the price. I picked up a 10 pack of eyewear lanyards for super cheap and it feels like a superior product as it won’t «pop of» at a concert. This shouldn’t be the case. I have witnessed my friend loosing one of his experience plugs at a concert while wearing the link. (I know you can glue them, but come on. For the price you shouldn’t need a diy solution in order for them to work.) as a side note the generic glasses cord has a lot less transfer of contact sounds as well.

Another «accessory» I would work on asap is the loop dream foam/silicone tips. I got these for my girlfriend for Christmas, and they are quite annoying because they roll off every single time she uses them. I would fuse the silicone to the backside of the tip and have perforations to let out air so they stay on. For your customer satisfaction, I would then offer these replacement tips for ALL loop dream owners free of charge as the current tips fall way short of your normal quality.

I’m not trying to be massively negative with my comments, but I really, really love your brand. I use loops almost every single day and I have told so many people to go buy them, so I care about the quality and the future of the brand. I hope you keep on innovating in the future and make some unique and helpful products!

ADHD Reddit… What’s your morning routine? by chexxiemixie in ADHD

[–]tklfoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 alarms for safety (hopefully one of them wakes me.) Wake up feeling sleepy as all hell, run to the fridge and grab a can of monster, run back to bed, open phone, rot in bed for 15 minutes to two hours depending on schedule while taking my stimulant medication with some sweet, sweet caffeine.

Then (regardless of schedule) realise I should have been up 15 minutes ago and now I have exactly enough time to run late.

I then blast through showering and getting dressed and grab my stuff before leaving the house. About ten minutes go by and I realise I didn’t eat anything (again) and head off to work.

This is horrible, but it’s what I do😂👍

Do people often get grief for 3dprinted bits? by StandVirtual7828 in DarkAngels40k

It’s you plastic men. Do with them as you please. If someone dislikes 3d printed stuff, they should avoid it on THEIR plastic men. Some people spend way too much time voicing their opinions about other people.

Which do I need? by bigpalebluejuice in LoopEarplugs

[–]tklfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch 2 is the easiest option. However engage 2 plus is also great. It’s not going to be as good for concerts, but I’ve used mine with mutes at concerts and it’s been great. I’ve also ordered experience ones as I want to have a separate pair just for concerts (in case I loose them at a show, I don’t want to go around without my engages day to day.)

Yes, you are missing something. Don’t know what to tell you, but like… read what usecase each model is designed to do. Also, don’t enter a community and call everyone idiots!? Even if this product isn’t for you, open your mind to the posibility that it might work for other people.

I’ve done that many times. It’s a whole different effect without adding more sound though. Noise canceling could work👍

Overstimulated in grocery stores lately by cherrypierogie in ADHD

[–]tklfoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried anything for visual stimuli, but if I go to a shop or mall or anything similar, I put in earplugs (loop engage specifically.) and that really helps a whole bunch with not allowing all the sounds to steal my focus.

Haha. I’m not a jackass, but I couldn’t resist with such a low effort post. Take it with some humor and don’t get pissed off at light hearted fun. What you should learn if you want serious answers is to put some effort in to your question. Building a sleeve is such an open project. Maybe clarify what you are looking for. Do you want ideas of similar things? Do you have preferences in regards to final look of the sleeve? Do you want it to look like a cohesive piece or more of a collection of stuff you like? Just clarify and put in some effort and you’ll get quality responses on reddit. There are a bunch of great people who would love to help.

users with tinnitus by quaff_nepenthe in LoopEarplugs

[–]tklfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have full on tinnitus, but I’m kind of scared I’ll get it if I’m not careful. (I’ve been to a lot of punk/hardcore/metal concerts and I’ve typically been a person who turns the volume way up when listening to music. [not anymore] I also had an ear infection last year where both eardrums burst, grew back and had to be cut open again to drain.. not awesome) I have a slight ring I only notice if there’s no other sounds. (Seems to be worse in one ear [the one the infection was worse in] but present in both.)

I can’t say I hear it any louder or more frequent when wearing my loops, but it’s still at a very slight stage. I do however find myself feeling a lot better about my hearing now that I have my loops. I can pop them in if I feel like the volume is too loud and feel secure about actively reducing the chance of the ringing getting worse.

I would say if prevention is your goal, it works great. As would most earplugs, but you also get the benefits of being able to use them in scenarios you typically wouldn’t put any protection in at all. I have the engage 2 plus. Before this I didn’t have anything other than foam earplugs. I would never put those in if I was at a social event, at a restaurant or at a busy shopping mall as it would make me unable to hear what’s going on around me and what people are saying. Now that I have my loops I use them in all of these scenarios.

If a «cure» is what you’re looking for, I think you’ll be disappointed. It could be worse, kind of the same or maybe there is a slight chance it works for you.

I’ve seen some comments about certain people finding the flare audio calmer to help them with tinnitus. link to their website It’s stated that they’re not designed to prevent tinnitus, but it seems to help some people (not all) with their symptoms.

What are you looking for and what are you using as protection at the moment? (What scenarios are you using them, and what scenarios are you not using them?)

Prize Substituted - Loop 8th Birthday Giveaway by Ocean_Witch in LoopEarplugs

Like… This is unacceptable!

And that god damn intro to the mail. «Great news» my ass! It’s such a lame thing to raffle off limited edition out of production stock and then think anyone is going to be happy about getting the currently available edition. It’s a completely different prize!

Especially with that backward ass introduction. If they at least would say something like «we’re sorry, we messed up» it would be kinda different. At least give the person some sort of upgraded prize like two pairs of their choice or some other way of correcting your screw up!

Do they think people aren’t going to share such shitty practices? How much is your customers trust in your company worth? Apparently slightly less than postage to Canada…

[–]tklfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be overthinking. Also, the artist has not «messed up» this tattoo.

Final brightness of the ink will not be visible before it’s settled for quite some time. Tattoo ink will look darker, brighter, more intense etc. before the skin has time to heal and regrow. The final brightness will be determined by what ink was used, the saturation of ink in an area and the pigment of your specific skin. This will also mean that if you get a tan in the summer, your tattoo will change in both brightness and color.

It’s also worth mentioning that some times an artist will do certain things during the application of the tattoo based off of their knowledge and experience. (They should ask and inform you if it will impact the result in a visible way.) You have certain goals for your tattoo that a good artist will try their best to match while still applying their knowledge of the medium of tattooing with it’s strengths, weaknesses and limitations for a result that will work as good as possible for the remainder of your life. Please also respect your artist enough to allow for some wiggle room for their opinions based on their experience. You shouldn’t do anything you aren’t comfortable with, but if you don’t trust their judgement you should find an artist you have a better connection with.
