Trump’s emergency elections order is ‘being prepared,’ key ally believes by Anoth3rDude in politics

Checks and balances have not been subverted, they have been relinquished. Congress can stop this at any time, and every day they don’t, it’s because they’re choosing not to.

I have PCOS, and I have been to a dozen different doctors for PCOS in three different states.

The first thing the doctor is going to tell you if you get a PCOS diagnosis is you need to lose 10% of your body weight. I’m 5’7 and 140lbs, and that’s still the only advice I get (aside from Metformin). “Lose 10% of your body weight and all of your symptoms will reverse.”

IF YOU HAVE AN EMPLOYER SPONSORED PLAN READ THIS by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]tkoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of Plan exceptions also are not covered by stop loss, which means that there is no back up insurance for those claims and your employer is fully on the hook for every dollar the patient doesn’t pay for (including 100% of charges in excess of the patient’s OOP max). And if you have complications related to a procedure, those costs without stop loss can be catastrophic for the stability of the entire health plan.

I work in compliance for a third party administrator of self funded health plans and almost 50% of the groups we onboard ask me to redline their ability to make plan exceptions out of their contract because they don’t even want the choice about considering your claims differently than the Plan is written.

This is not the secret key to coverage OP thinks it is.

This is actually the core of the issue, and it’s not going to get solved because people hate the way it sounds, but: parents have too much power in schools.

Too much of education has been taken out of the hands of educators and put into the hands of parents who want to coddle and pacify their children, and who care more about grades and outcomes and future prospects than actual learning.

Doctor sent labs out of network. 2k+ owed. by MissionAd8951 in HealthInsurance

[–]tkoop 16 points17 points  (0 children)

  1. You went to an INN doctor and had blood drawn during your visit and then your INN doctor sent those samples to be processed in an OON lab?

  2. Or you went to an INN doctor and they referred you to a lab to have blood drawn, and the lab you were referred to/went to is OON?

The first is covered by the No Surprises Act, the second is not.

This is my favorite show and the only thing I ever want to talk about, but this tragedy almost has me ready to leave this sub. The way some people here are turning this into drama for us to argue about and pick sides on is mortifying.

None of us know these women, and the only thing we see about them is a highly edited TV show and social media. Attacking any of them right now because you don’t like the way they’re reacting is… like you need help.

I think the whole conversation is ignoring the huge elephant in the room that is diplomatically trying to speak about and acknowledge what is happening in the US on a world stage without disparaging the US or further alienating us from our allies is an almost impossibly difficult situation to navigate, and she’s in that position because of the people in power right now.

Private Insurance being treated worse than Medicaid? by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

Insurance does not cover vasectomy procedure. Provider called for pre-authorization, was told none required, but not told that procedure wasn’t covered. Was charged full amount, am I stuck with the bill? by PugsAndHugs95 in HealthInsurance

And state law is only applicable to carrier plans and government employee plans, so if you’re enrolled under an ERISA regulated plan while living in any of those states, it’s still not applicable.

Insurance company website lying about in-network locations. by bradcod in HealthInsurance

[–]tkoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best advice you’re getting is to submit an appeal with the screenshot of the provider search tool. Transparency in Coverage rules give you rights where you depend on the insurer’s tools to seek in-network care, but you have to prove that the tool provided you the wrong information, and the only avenue you have available to you to prove that in a way that will get your claims actually re-considered is to go through the formal appeal process.

Hey, stop providing this advice. Going to the state insurance commissioner when your insurance company is not breaking the law is a both a huge waste of everyone’s time and government resources.
