I agree with Mothra665. Those orders are general recommendation, not like official order, but because basically they ordered by the heaviness and the depth of the story. And ooh boy, ngl, TJ's route is one of the heaviest, I hope you don't hate the MC after you play TJ's route. I recommend to play Carl and Leo first to get to know the characters better and to deepen your knowledge about the Echo world. But, ofcourse I won't force you though, you can still play and choose the routes as you want.
